Borealis made significant progress on its journey towards a circular economy in 2024, with major increases in both capacity and feedstock processing. Our latest Annual Report shows circular production capacity rising by 18% compared to the previous year, reaching 227,900 metric tons, while the volume of circular feedstock processed nearly doubled to 221,200 metric tons.

International practical experience for textile students
As part of the European Erasmus+ project AddTex, the partner institutions organised several hackathons simultaneously from 15 to 17 May 2024 at the universities in Borås (Sweden), UPC (Spain), PIN (Italy) and TUS (Ireland). The aim was to develop practical solutions to real challenges facing the textile industry. The German family-owned company Schmitz Textiles, a specialist in complete textile solutions for indoor and outdoor use, challenged students at the University of PIN in Prato to increase the recycled content of yarns for awning production to 100 per cent.
