INVISTA Shanghai China Site earns ISCC PLUS certification

INVISTA’s nylon 6,6 polymer manufacturing site in Shanghai, China, has received International Sustainability & Carbon Certification (ISCC) PLUS certification of its polymerization process.

This milestone follows INVISTA’s announcement in April of the expansion of its certification program. Prior to this achievement, INVISTA’s Victoria and Kingston sites successfully renewed their certifications, while the Rozenburg facility’s certification is also underway. These accomplishments underscore the company’s strong commitment to responsible stewardship and reinforce its dedication to social responsibility and environmental protection.

ISCC PLUS is a global certification system that verifies the sourcing and traceability of bio, circular, and bio-circular derived materials* applying a mass-balance approach. It validates consistency with environmental, social, and governance criteria throughout the supply chain, and it provides assurance to consumers and stakeholders regarding the production practices and use of resources.

“We are excited to achieve this globally recognized certification at our Shanghai polymer site. It reflects our strong commitment to the efficient use of resources. This accomplishment is also a great example of teamwork and collaboration across our organization.” said Kyle Redinger, INVISTA vice president of Asia Pacific Upstream Nylon. “A major shift is taking place in China as customers across the market increasingly look for alternative products that meet their goals. It is through this differentiated offering, INVISTA is advancing in providing verifiable and high- performing alternatives in the nylon6,6 industry, to support our customers to achieve their sustainability and environmental goals.”

The certification was awarded following a full independent audit, issued by SCS Global Services, and will enable the INVISTA Shanghai, China facility to offer ISCC PLUS certified nylon 6,6 polymers.
