ICAC to hold 82nd Plenary Meeting

The International Cotton Advisory Committee (ICAC) is pleased and grateful to accept the invitation from Uzbekistan’s Minister of Textiles to hold the 82nd Plenary Meeting of the ICAC in Tashkent from September 30-October 3, 2024.

The local Organizing Committee in Tashkent has chosen “Global Partnerships to Promote Innovation in the Cotton and Textile Value Chains” as the theme for the event.

The four-day conference will feature a variety of sessions covering all sectors of the supply chain, including:

  • Recent Advances in Cotton Genetics, Genomics, and Breeding to Combat Climate Change
  • The Green Shift: How International Environmental Policies Could Reshape Cotton Textile Trade
  • Traceability and Transparency: Building Trust through Digitization
  • Future Challenges for Cotton Consumption and Fiber Market Competition

The conference will also feature the World Café, a dynamic session that focuses on the views and ideas of attendees rather than the speakers on stage. The theme for the 2024 World Café is “Building an Inclusive and Resilient Global Cotton Textiles Value Chain.”

At the conclusion of the 82nd Plenary Meeting, attendees will have the option to participate in a technical tour (October 4-6) to gain deeper insight into Uzbekistan’s cotton and textile industries.
