Alchemie Technology recognised as Sustainability Leader in the Textile Industry

Cambridge based Alchemie Technology, a leader in low energy, waterless textile dyeing and finishing technology, has been recognised in the official History of Parliament Trust’s historic publication, ‘300 Years of Leadership and Innovation’.

Launched to coincide with the 300th anniversary of the appointment of Britain’s first prime minister, Robert Walpole, in 1721, and in the year of Her Majesty The Queen’s 95th birthday, the book celebrates leadership across the full spectrum of British society: from Parliament and Crown to captains of industry and those pushing the boundaries of innovation.

Dr Alan Hudd, Alchemie Technology, Chairman says: “We are honoured to be included in this iconic publication and that our mission to create a world with zero pollution from textile dyeing is being recognised”.

“Alchemie’s low energy, waterless dyeing technology transforms the most polluting part of garment manufacture, using 85% less energy and just 5% of the water required of traditional textile dyeing. We’ve created technology which dramatically reduces carbon emissions and is urgently needed to minimize fashion’s impact on climate change. By enabling the industry to rapidly decarbonise we can create a more sustainable global fashion and textile economy” adds Hudd.

Produced in partnership by the History of Parliament Trust – one of the most respected and authoritative research projects in British history – and publisher St James’s House, ‘300 Years of Leadership and Innovation’ is written by an editorial team of distinguished academics and award-winning authors.

Westminster Abbey will be hosting the official launch of book on Wednesday, 22 September 2021, which will be distributed globally to heads of state and other dignitaries.
