RIETER INSTALLS 1,111th UNILAP

For decades Rieter has been the undisputed leader in high performance combing for cotton. In the late eighties Rieter introduced a new generation of Sliverlappers - the UNIlap system - to the world markets. Compared to the former, classical sliver lap / ribbon lap system the draw frame / UNIlap system allows higher feeds and speeds and meets the quality requirements for medium yarn counts as well as for finest quality yarns.

The full capacity of modern combing systems cannot be exploited fully unless combing preparation matches the high requirements of today's high performance combers. The Rieter UNIlap in its third generation accounts for production rates up to 360 kg/h, laps of up to 25 kg, batt weights up to 80 g/m2 and a low count variation (CV%) over the entire lap length.

Several dozens of combing sets were delivered to India and Bangladesh in 2002. The 1.111th UNIlap is installed at J.K. Spinning Mills Ltd., a new yarn production plant of the J.K. Group producing and marketing quality fabrics and knitwear for the Bangladeshi and international markets. A hand-over ceremony with the management representatives of both companies was organized end of January.
