Teijin Carbon advances sustainability leadership with EcoVadis, CDP reporting and expanding Tenax Next™ sustainable carbon fiber portfolio
New sustainability benchmarks and next-generation fiber innovations strengthen Teijin Carbon’s industry position
The company also continues to participate in CDP climate and water reporting, providing environmental data to major aerospace OEMs for the third consecutive year. These achievements follow the publication of Teijin Carbon’s first Sustainability Report in 2025, underscoring its commitment to transparency and accountability.
“Across our industry, sustainability claims must be supported by transparent and verifiable metrics. EcoVadis and CDP are two of the most trusted global indicators for assessing measurable ESG progress, and we are proud to demonstrate continued improvement in both. With Tenax Next™, we are proving that sustainable carbon materials can match the performance and processing reliability expected in demanding applications – without requiring costly requalification in existing industrial composite processes", says Daishi Yoshimoto, Vice President Global Aerospace Marketing and Strategy, Teijin Carbon.
Teijin Carbon will showcase its sustainability achievements and Tenax Next™ program at JEC World 2026, where it will unveil new product demonstrators and development collaborations.
Aligned with the Teijin Group’s ambition to reach net-zero CO₂ emissions by 2050, Teijin Carbon is accelerating the adoption of renewable electricity, energy efficiency improvements and sustainable feedstocks across its carbon fiber production processes.
In response to growing customer demand for verifiable sustainable carbon materials, Teijin Carbon has developed and continues to expand its Tenax Next™ product line, including the next‑generation Tenax Next™ HTS45 E23 24K 1600tex carbon fiber. Based on circular feedstocks, this fiber reduces CO₂ emissions by up to 36 percent compared to conventional carbon fibers while maintaining established tensile and stiffness characteristics, providing an industrially robust drop-in solution for industrial, marine and automotive structural applications and supporting customers’ Scope 3 emissions reduction efforts.
“Teijin´s development of Tenax Next™ HTS45 E23 24K carbon fiber filament yarn, offering a significant CO2 saving for future advanced materials, has reshaped our expectations”, says Marc Fette, CEO of CTC GmbH (an Airbus company). “It’s amazing to see a material that not only delivers outstanding performance but also aligns with our sustainability ambitions.”
