Optimizations, further developments and innovations are an integral part of STOLL's activities. For a fast, flexible transfer of detailed demand-oriented innovations into the production workflow of its customers, STOLL develops targeted solutions for more benefits of its machines (Fig. 1) and combines them into bundles. The first innovation packages were launched in spring 2022 and were very well received on the market. Now there is another upgrade package that focuses on the software of the machines.

This accolade for the textile machinery manufacturer is based on the findings of an external survey of employees and management. The Top Job award is presented by former German Vice-Chancellor Sigmar Gabriel. Marcus Mayer, one of Mayer & Cie.’s two managing partners, received it on 24 February, in Berlin.

More lapping variety, more shape power
At the end of last year, KARL MAYER added the HKS 2-SE PLUS to its range of products for processing elastane; the first trials were completed shortly afterwards to test the new patterning possibilities it offered. Thanks to a modified knitting motion, the newcomer can not only implement conventional elastic locknit and 1 x 1 counter lappings, but twill stitch variations too. The ground guide bar GB 2, which processes elastane, may work the two-needle-overlap.

KNIT COUTURE upcycling project
Close cooperation between educational institutions and industry is vital in today’s world: they can inspire young students to new ideas, offer them future opportunities and awaken new passions. With this in mind, the KNIT COUTURE upcycling project was initiated between STOLL – part of the KARL MAYER GROUP – and the TEXOVERSUM Faculty of Textiles at Reutlingen University as part of the 3rd semester for fashion design. Both partners are leading the way in their industry. The results are clear to see.

The first training course in the online course series will take place on 13 and 14 March 2023, followed by a second one on 3 and 4 May 2023.
