Kerry-Esquel logistics center breaks ground, paving the way for a sustainable and intelligent supply chain ecosystem

On November 17, the Groundbreaking Ceremony of the Kerry-Esquel Logistics Center was successfully held in Gaoming, Foshan of Guangdong Province. The smart logistics center is jointly invested and constructed by Esquel Group and Kerry Logistics Network, aiming to create a green and intelligent logistics supply chain ecosystem, fostering a collaborative environment for smart logistics.

With a total investment of RMB 370 million, Kerry-Esquel Logistics Center, located in Xijiang Industrial District, Gaoming, covers a total area of 129 acres and spans a total construction area of 85,000 square meters. Adopting high-standard facility design and construction, incorporated with elements of innovation, energy-efficiency, and sustainability, the logistic center features a series of green initiatives, such as the sponge city design for green landscapes, LED energy-saving lighting, efficient thermal insulation layers, charging stations for new energy vehicles, solar energy panel loads, etc. In addition, automation and intelligent logistics facilities will be adopted based on customers’ needs, and an advanced smart logistics management system will be employed for efficient operation. The construction period will take 1.5 years and is expected to commence operations in the first half of 2025.

Esquel Group Xinjiang Research & Development Center has successfully developed a new self-bred Sea Island cotton (Extra-Long-Staple cotton, ELS cotton) variety named "Yuan Loong 30," which has been officially approved and designated by the 11th Main Crop Variety Assessment Committee of Xinjiang. With this addition, Esquel has now successfully bred and named a total of six Sea Island cotton varieties, including "Xinhai 33", "Xinhai 50", "Xinhai 55", "Xinhai 63", "Yuan Loong 17" and "Yuan Loong 30".
