Ternua is using innovative stormfleece pro technology in its most technical jackets for next winter

Ternua started using the revolutionary STORM FLEECE PRO technology several seasons ago. It was first used in their most technical Protech Series (focused on mountaineering) and Adrenalite lines, the latter range of garments is for high intensity aerobic sports like trail running. So, with our sights on next winter, this technology will be used in the most technical jackets of their trekking range and it will provide some unique benefits.

STORM FLEECE PRO is a woven textile technology with a single layer that combines the virtues of soft shell and fleece so it can provide an excellent balance between transpirability, wind resistance and water resistance. The high density of the surface blocks wind and water without needing a laminate, which makes it stand up to washing even more. Thanks to its single layer construction, the textiles are lighter and less bulky than 2 or 3 layer textiles. The extremely soft terrycloth inside encapsulates warm air, keeping the wearer warm. It also stretches, which facilitates freedom of movement while doing activities and, at the same time, it dissipates excess heat because of its excellent transpirability. It's a very complete textile for athletes because it can protect against unexpected changes in the weather without the need to carry different garments.

In addition to the above, the technology is also environmentally friendly. Because it has a single layer textile construction, the fibers are bound together strongly, which minimizes the number of micro-filaments that could come off into the drain of the washing machine. And having a single layer means the textile has only been dyed once. That results in reducing many steps in producing the textile, which saves a lot of energy and water. It should also be noted that the material used usually comes from recycled polyester or nylon. Alongside that, we should point out that this textile has the Bluesign certificate, which guarantees the garments meet the highest standards in terms of functionality, respect for the environment and commitment to future generations, health and safety. Lastly, the water repellent treatment used on these garments is PFC free, which means it is free of substances that are toxic for the environment.
