From June 16 to 20, the international textile industry met at the ITMA ASIA + CITME 2014 in Shanghai. Groz-Beckert was undoubtedly one of the main crowd-pullers: around 7,000 people visited the company's booth which, with the presentation of the TexCar and a circular knitting machine made from glass, provided highly unusual insights into the world of everyday textiles.
The relaunch of the app "myGrozBeckert", which now features a new look and numerous useful tools for everyday work in the textile industry, also attracted a great deal of interest. The main theme, however, was increasing productivity with Groz-Beckert products. At the booth, the theme turned out to be a real winner with the visitors, who took part in the "Saddle up for higher productivity" competition.

For five days, everything in the textile world revolved around events at the ITMA ASIA + CITME 2014. According to information from the organizers, approximately 100,000 visitors from 102 countries found their way to the Shanghai New International Expo Centre – an impressive seven-percent increase over 2012. About 80 percent of the visitors came from China, while India, Japan, Taiwan, South Korea, Indonesia and Turkey were also strongly represented. Due to this positive development in visitor numbers, the exhibitors were satisfied with the trade fair – and this was especially true of Groz-Beckert.

More productivity, thanks to perfect interplay between high-quality items of machine equipment – that was the main theme at the ITMA ASIA + CITME 2014 for Groz-Beckert, and the visitors clearly appreciated it. Around 7,000 guests visited the Groz-Beckert booth, which also featured two spectacular technological attractions. Celebrating its Asian debut, the TexCar revealed the crucial importance of textiles and related joining technologies in modern automotive construction. The cutaway vehicle, a Mercedes-Benz E-Class stationwagon, and the associated interactive information pillars were constantly surrounded by fascinated visitors.

At least as much attention was attracted by the glass textile machines, which literally made the knitting and weaving processes transparent. Deep insights into circular knitting technology were provided by a glass circular knitting machine. Original-size and made entirely of acrylic glass, it showed the visitors at the booth how Groz-Beckert needles, with their high precision and stability, optimize the production process and make it more economical.

For the Weaving product range, a loom made of acrylic glass demonstrated the effectiveness of the Groz-Beckert leno weaving system PosiLeno®. Great interest was also shown in the KnotMaster tying system, which delivers higher productivity in weaving preparation thanks to its high efficiency, user-friendliness and easy maintenance.

A weaving machine made of acrylic glass demonstrated the full range of weaving accessories, like healds, heald frames, drop wires, and warp stop motions for different applications.  The Nonwovens division presented special needle solutions for applications in the car industry. Groz-Beckert always orients itself towards the needs of its customers from the automotive sector and stands for quality, efficiency, process reliability, and performance. To convince themselves, the exhibition visitors received needle samples for different applications, according to their interests and requirements in terms of surface quality.

The "myGrozBeckert" app is a real plus in professional life, and there was even more to experience at the ITMA ASIA + CITME 2014. Groz-Beckert provided yet another fascinating attraction at the show with its prizewinning competition based around the possibilities for increasing productivity in the circular knitting process. Competitors were asked to make five estimates, and these showed just how profitable it is to use high-quality needles on a textile machine. All those who answered all five questions correctly had the chance to win a brand-new iPad Air.
