Review of an extraordinary trade fair

The Truetzschler booth at Techtextil 2013 was a real eye catcher (c) 2013 Truetschler
On booth B03 in Hall 3.0, Trützschler presented the most comprehensive machine program of the trade fair for the production of nonwovens and technical textiles. Trützschler Nonwovens, Trützschler Card Clothing and Trützschler Man-Made Fibers provided information on complete plants, machines, card clothing, individual components, as well as services.

The response was strong and very positive. The discussions focused just as much on classics like the components for web formation and the AquaJet, as on the new cooperation with Voith Paper, or the Bastian winding and slitting solutions, a business integrated one year ago.

The AquaJet – 17 years of experience and 100 installations delivered
This spring, Trützschler Nonwovens & Man-Made Fibers delivered the 100th AquaJet to Norafin Industries (Germany) GmbH in Mildenau. In the field of hydroentanglement, Norafin was a partner from the very start. The technological partnership during the 17 years following the introduction of the AquaJet has resulted in growth for both companies. This is also evident in the special design of the 100th AquaJet that has recently been delivered.

Bastian – winding and slitting in the Trützschler Group
The techtextil was another important milestone in linking the traditional Bastian brand with the name of Trützschler Nonwovens. The appearance was a demonstration to the nonwovens industry that the reliable Bastian technology will remain available, undergo further development, and has the support of a strong group. This makes Trützschler the only provider that can offer complete nonwovens lines from a single source.

A complete line for flushable wipes
The complete solution for the production of wet-laid and hydroentangled nonwovens inspired producers with business ideas; the exhibited material for flushable wipes was very well received by nonwovens manufacturers and converters from a variety of industries. In cooperation with Voith Paper - the company provides the equipment for web forming and water circuit - it has been possible to create a web that compares favourably with established end products in the market.

Trützschler Man-Made Fibers – technologies for fibers and filaments
The production of staple fibers, industrial yarns and carbon fibers is at the beginning of the process chain leading to the finished technical textile. The market requirements for smaller spinning capacities for special applications were met in particular by the solution presented for size and performance optimised, one-stage staple fiber installations.

The know-how of Trützschler Card Clothing for a smooth production
The visitors to this year's techtextil showed an unexpectedly high technical interest in all areas. Existing and potential customers made repeated use of the process expertise provided by Trützschler Card Clothing to discuss technical issues about materials, end products, and sustainable processes in detail.

Award for best dissertation
On the second day of the trade fair, the Trützschler Nonwovens site in Dülmen had a special reason to celebrate: the Walter Reiners-Stiftung (Foundation) of the German Textile Machinery Industry awarded the Dülmen Director of Engineering, Dr. Heiko Schenuit, the prize for best dissertation. His work in the field of energy efficiency provides textile manufacturers and textile machinery manufacturers with a method for energy-specific process optimisation. In part, the results relating to air-jet weaving can be directly applied by weaving mills to save compressed air.

Thanks to the level of international visitors, the fame of techtextil extends far beyond Germany and Europe. In addition to visiting the exhibition stand, various Chinese delegations - among others - decided to also visit the production facility and technical centre in Egelsbach.

The Trützschler booth at Shanghaitex, which took place at the same time, was also very popular. In Shanghai, the focus was on the products of Trützschler Spinning; the visitors of Trützschler Man-Made Fibers were particularly interested in installations for spinning of carpet yarns and production of carbon fibers.

The bottom line is that Trützschler products convince entire markets and industries. Quality and innovative power are, and always will be, the values that prepare our companies for the future.
