Texprocess to be restructured on the organisational side

Texprocess will create stronger links with Techtextil (c) 2013 Messe Frankfurt
Messe Frankfurt is restructuring the Texprocess trade fair on the organisational side. Previously part of the ‘Technology & Production’ Division, it has been transferred to the ‘Textiles & Textile Technologies’ Division with effect from 1 November 2013. The leading international trade fair for processing textile and flexible materials has been organised by a separate team parallel to the work on Techtextil, the world’s leading trade fair for technical textiles and nonwovens.
  • The aim: to create stronger links with Techtextil
  • VDMA: “Bundling the next strategic step to continued success”

“The organisational restructuring will generate more synergies and strategic benefits for both fairs. This will enable us to be even more efficient in Frankfurt and internationally, and make full use of our worldwide network of over 40 textile fairs”, says Olaf Schmidt who, as Vice President Textiles & Textile Technologies, is now also responsible for Texprocess. Both Techtextil and Texprocess will remain independent brands.

esponsibility for the Texprocess brand will be assumed by Michael Jänecke, who has been in charge of the Techtextil brand since 1993.
Texprocess has been held successfully at Frankfurt Fair and Exhibition Centre since 2011.  The last edition in June 2013 attracted 330 exhibitors and over 12,100 visitors, an increase of four and 16 percent respectively over the previous event. Additionally, more than 8,100 visitors from the concurrent Techtextil came to see the range of products and services on offer at Texprocess.

ltogether, the two events welcomed 1,652 exhibitors and a record 40,000 international trade visitors. “Bundling the responsibility for Texprocess and Techtextil in a single division is the next strategic step to build on the great success already achieved by Texprocess. This double event offers exhibitors and visitors from the apparel industry and technical-textile processing companies an even better, unified platform”, says Elgar Straub, Director General of VDMA Garment and Leather Technology.

The next Texprocess will be held in Frankfurt am Main from 4 to 7 May 2015 concurrently with Techtextil (5 to 7 May). The next Texprocess Americas will take place in Atlanta from 13 to 15 May 2014 and run parallel to Techtextil North America.
