Recycling / Circular Economy
16th Colloquium "recycling for textiles" on 6 and 7 December 2023
Focus on textile recycling
The programme will focus on the possibilities of mechanical and chemical textile recycling and the characterisation of recycled fibres. The focus will also, but not exclusively, be on classic fibre mate- rials. Current results from industry and research will be presented. In addition, the focus will be on the possibilities of mechanical engineering with the latest industrial plant and processing concepts for production with recycled materials. Appropriately, insights into development work in the fields of design with and design for recycling will also be given. In a much appreciated tradition, young female designers will present their creative ideas and solutions as horizon-expanding alternatives to the con- ventional possibilities of textile recycling. The plenary lectures will be given by Dr. Beate Kummer from Kummer umwelt:kommunikation GmbH, Rheinbreitbach and Maximilian Speiser from AUTEFA Solutions Group, Linz, who are absolute experts in the dynamic developments in chemicals law and the issues of textile sustainability from a company perspective.
