ICAC to hold its 83rd plenary meeting in Mwanza, Tanzania

The International Cotton Advisory Committee (ICAC) is pleased and grateful to accept an invitation from Tanzania to host the ICAC’s 83rd Plenary Meeting from November 17-20, 2025, at the Malaika Beach Resort in Mwanza.

The local Organizing Committee in Tanzania has chosen “Leveraging Sustainable Cotton and Textiles for Rural and Industrial Development” as the theme for the event.

The four-day conference will feature a variety of sessions covering all sectors of the cotton textile value chain, including:

+ Recent Advances in Cotton Genetics, Genomics, and Breeding,

+ How Technical Textile Innovation Can Improve Cotton’s Competitiveness,

+ How International Environmental Legislation Could Reshape the Cotton Textile Trade,

+ Developments in Traceability and Transparency,

+ Cotton Consumption and Fiber Market Competition, and much more.

The conference will also feature the World Café, a dynamic session that focuses on the views and ideas of attendees rather than the speakers on stage.

At the conclusion of the 83rd Plenary Meeting, attendees will have the option to participate in a technical tour to gain deeper insighst into Tanzania’s cotton and textile industries.

More information will be forthcoming as the agenda takes shape and details about the Technical Tour are confirmed.

Cotton Brazil Dialogues 2026 concludes with 50 international participants immersed in Brazilian cotton production

The Cotton Brazil Dialogues concludes its 2026 edition after a series of technical visits to farms, cotton gins and reference centers, as well as workshops focused on Brazilian cotton production. A total of 50 participants from 14 countries took part in the field trips. The initiative is led by the Brazilian Association of Cotton Growers (Abrapa) and the National Association of Cotton Exporters (Anea), with support from the Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (ApexBrasil).
