The 1st Dornbirn GFC-Asia, postponed in 2020, will now take place hybrid

The 1st International Dornbirn GFC-ASIA (Dornbirn-GFC@2021) will be held in Daegu, Korea from March 23rd – 24th 2021. This has been announced with great pleasure by the organizers. The first international conference was intended to be held in 2020, but was canceled and rescheduled due to COVID-19, which swept the world. Due to the still critical pandemic-related restrictions in most countries, they invite people to participate as a hybrid conference that will be held both ‘in-person’ in Daegu, Korea and online (recorded for EU) around the world.

Dornbirn-GFC@2021 aims to knowledge exchange and share experiences and research results for the sustainability in the textile sector. It will start with a new V-nomics perspective, shape a better future, and a hyper-collaboration between Asia and EU Textile industries.

As a opening lecture Lenzing's CEO Robert van de Kerkhof will present on March 23rd: "Strategic partnerships for systemic change". Mr. Pierre Wiertz from EDANA (General manager of Europe Non-woven Association) will also present about "Non-woven". And also we prepared technical lectures from representative Korean companies such as Samsung, Hyundai Motors, Hyosung, Kolon and Huvis.

Dornbirn-GFC@2021 will cover the new developments of fiber innovation, technical textile inclusive non-woven and functional textiles, sustainability and circular economy to a wide range of applications of woven textiles and non-woven.

The organizers say that unlike other events, it will not be an academic research-based meeting, but a practical, industry-focused conference, and participants will be encouraged to share real-world problems with the assembled experts and their fellow attendees in the dedicated discussion forums.

Topics are:

  • Fiber Innovation
  • Nonwovens and Technical Textiles
  • Mobility-automotive interior & structure
  • Smart Textiles
  • Functional Textiles
  • Sustainability & Circular Economy

The cooperation with the Korean Textile Federation KOFOTI and the well known Dyeing & Finishing Technology Institute DYETEC has created the 1st Dornbirn-GFC ASIA fiber innovation congress in Daegu/South Korea. This special event should improve the network activities with Asian companies. The program design is similar to the Dornbirn-GFC congress in Austria. Plenary speakers will open the Dornbirn-GFC ASIA congress on March, 23rd 2021. Around 30 expert lectures concentrate on 23rd and 24th of March 2021 the key topics. Interactive discussions will round off this special fiber innovation congress. From European side renowned university professors and board members or owners of top companies from the fiber and textile industry have already confirmed their participation.
