on show the new Itema rapier weaving machine - GalileoRX

At SZTIE, Itema will showcase GalileoRX, the latest model of rapier weaving machine manufactured in the Itema China plant in weaving width 2300mm with FPA – Free Flight weft transfer system and producing apparel.

Specifically designed to combine the most innovative weaving technology with the unique advantages of accurate manufacturing in China, GalileoRX was launched in December 2022 and will be running live for the first time on an exhibition ground at SZTIE.

Born on the heritage of the most successful high-end rapier weaving machine assembled in China, the Itema R9000 and later R90002, GalileoRX features further technological and design advancements to fully meet the needs of the market, reaching unbeatable levels in terms of performance, textile mastery and eco-efficiency.

From the technological point of view, GalileoRX offers weavers the possibility to adopt the most advanced weaving technology to put them apart from the competition due to tangible and substantial benefits. GalileoRX, indeed, successfully weaves the widest range of fabrics – a totally open platform configurable to meet exactly the weaver’s requirements.?The optimized mechanical components provide substantial energy savings and enhanced performances while guaranteeing superior fabric quality. The new machine’s ergonomy guarantees outstanding user-friendliness by facilitating machine accessibility for the weaver when carrying out daily textile operations, thanks to the new front cover with incorporated pushbuttons panels, to easily operate the machine from different operator positions. The Itema Electronic NCP—New Common Platform—comes here loaded on a high-performance, super-sensitive touch-screen console, that facilitates the communication between the weaver and the machine thus simplifying the daily textile operations.

New study shows low environmental impact by Cotton made in Africa Organic Cotton from Tanzania

Today, the Aid by Trade Foundation (AbTF) is announcing the results of a comprehensive life-cycle analysis (LCA) for cotton produced in Tanzania under the Cotton made in Africa Organic (CmiA Organic) standard. The study emphasises the small ecological footprint of CmiA Organic verified cotton. This can largely be traced back to the absence of synthetic pesticides, artificial fertilisers, and artificial irrigation. Consequently, CmiA Organic cotton can help the textile industry meet regulatory requirements as well as science-based targets. The results also show that the consequences of climate change threaten the livelihoods of these cotton farmers, even though the type of agriculture they practise barely contributes to climate change.
