Leveraging the unifying power of sport to drive positive transformations

adidas announces the establishment of the adidas Foundation, a dedicated initiative designed to consolidate and amplify the company's commitment to making a meaningful impact on the communities it serves.

The adidas Foundation will center its impact around three core pillars: "People," "Planet," and "Relief." Within the "People" category, three distinct programs will be established, emphasizing anti-discrimination, sport for development, and inclusive access to sports for all. Under the "Planet" category, two dedicated programs will be developed to concentrate on preserving the physical spaces of sport and promoting sustainable practices in sport. Additionally, the "Relief" category will enable the adidas Foundation to respond to the evolving needs of partners and the global communities they serve during times of disaster and crisis.

The adidas Foundation acts as an independent entity led by a dedicated team of experts accountable for carrying out all program operations. It is supervised by the Board of Directors of the adidas Stiftung which is composed of a majority of independent experts that act as the sole shareholder of the adidas Foundation.

The adidas Foundation is set to commence its program operations in March 2024, initiating with an open request for proposals from organizations seeking funding for projects dedicated to combatting hate and discrimination through sport and physical activity. A complete set of evaluation criteria, along with application guidance for potential applicants is now available at adidasfoundation.org.

The adidas Stiftung and adidas Foundation gGmbH, a non-profit company under German private law, are based in Germany and will work with organizations and partners around the world.
