PURE LOOP's DynaShape® automation increases recycling productivity by up to ten percent
Ansfelden/Düsseldorf, October 10, 2025 – PURE LOOP, a member of the EREMA Group, introduced DynaShape®, a new automation technology for its ISEC evo recycling machine, at K 2025 in Düsseldorf. The system responds to changes in the shape and bulk density of feed materials by automatically adjusting machine parameters to optimise the recycling process.
During extensive test runs simulating different production conditions, including changes in input materials, PURE LOOP recorded productivity increases of up to ten percent.
Automated settings for consistent recycling performance
The ISEC evo has been designed to process a wide range of production waste materials. Its integrated shredder-extruder combination features a patented double feed ram system and a conical transition to the extruder, enabling the processing of materials such as clumps, guillotined film rolls, film shreds, glass fibre-reinforced plastics and fibres into recycled pellets.
Previously, optimising machine parameters often required an experienced technician. DynaShape® automates this process, continuously adapting the settings to the material being processed. According to PURE LOOP, this reduces manual intervention while maintaining consistent throughput and recycling quality.
Manfred Dobersberger, Managing Director of PURE LOOP, explained:"DynaShape® regulates our recycling machine to get the perfect settings. It does it as precisely as a professional technician with ten years of experience," says Manfred Dobersberger, Managing Director of PURE LOOP. "Our customers get the advantage of higher throughputs with consistent high quality and a noticeable reduction in operator workload. The technology is in a class of its own when processing challenging applications with fluctuations in feed material shapes and bulk densities; tasks for which the ISEC evo is predestined."
Such applications include injection moulding waste, where material shapes range from start-up lumps to sprues and regrind, as well as PVC pipe production waste consisting of large pipe sections and fine machining shavings.
Dynamic control of material feeding and melt temperature
DynaShape® is based on the interaction of two automatically controlled components. The double feed ram system dynamically adjusts its speed according to the rotor load, while hydraulically adjustable intake apertures adapt to changing processing conditions without manual intervention.
This coordinated control improves material feeding, increases throughput and supports consistent melt quality.
According to PURE LOOP, maintaining stable melt pressure and an optimum extruder screw filling level helps prevent oxidative degradation of the polymer melt. The system also allows a maximum melt temperature to be defined for each polymer, automatically adjusting operating conditions to prevent the specified limit from being exceeded.
Unlike manual operation, DynaShape® can respond immediately to temperature increases, supporting more stable processing conditions.
The optimised machine settings can also be stored as recipes and recalled during subsequent start-ups. This reduces setup time and allows the machine to resume operation with previously established parameters.
Towards self-optimising recycling machines
PURE LOOP sees DynaShape® as a further step towards increasingly autonomous recycling processes.
"We are positive that DynaShape® will unleash even more potential in the future. This technology is a significant move towards self-optimising recycling machines," says Manfred Dobersberger.
The automation solution was made available for all sizes of the ISEC evo from October 2025.
Additional developments in energy efficiency and predictive maintenance
Alongside DynaShape®, PURE LOOP presented further technological developments at K 2025.
EcoGentle plasticising technology, developed by sister company EREMA, was extended to polyolefin processing and adapted specifically for the ISEC evo. The technology is designed to reduce energy consumption by operating at lower melt temperatures.
PURE LOOP also introduced an extension of EREMA's PredictOn Unit assistance system. Originally developed to monitor wear on the extruder screw and barrel, the system was expanded to include the conical intake zone between the shredder and extruder.
By monitoring wear in these critical machine components, the system is intended to improve equipment availability and reduce unexpected downtime.
This is particularly relevant when processing abrasive materials, such as glass fibre-reinforced injection moulding waste, which can accelerate wear on mechanical components.
