New trade fair brings innovation to the textile recycling industry: Textiles Recycling Expo 2025 in Brussels

The textile recycling industry is set for a groundbreaking transformation with the launch of the Textiles Recycling Expo, a new exhibition dedicated to addressing the pressing issue of textile waste. This innovative expo is the first of its kind, focusing exclusively on the recycling of fabrics, clothing, footwear, fibers, and non-wovens. The event will be held from June 4-5, 2025, in Brussels, Belgium, and is free to attend.

Geotextiles made from recycled materials: GREEN leads the way into the industry

In the GREEN project, the Fraunhofer Cluster of Excellence Circular Plastics Economy CCPE demonstrates that recycled polypro-pylene (PP), polyethylene terephthalate (PET), and high-density polyeth-ylene (HDPE) can be processed into nonwovens, fibers, and membranes that meet industrial requirements. The input materials originate from its own production waste and other textile waste streams. Both lines are fully operational, and the first products are expected to reach the market in July.
