Stefan Lux is new Managing Director of KM.ON

As of September 1, 2024, Stefan Lux has taken over as the Managing Director of KM.ON GmbH. The computer science graduate has taken over the role from Carla Janz, the KM.ON Head of HR, who served as interim director after the departure of Maximilian Kürig. He will also lead the KM.ON Business Unit of the KARL MAYER GROUP.

Stefan Lux brings a successful and varied professional background to the role.

After successfully completing his degree in Technical Computer Science at the Technical University of Dresden, he gained extensive experience as a product manager for semiconductors and digital solutions in the consumer and automotive markets at various companies. Fourteen years later, Stefan Lux joined Kässbohrer Geländefahrzeug AG (PistenBully), where he established and managed a new business unit for digital solutions. In this position, he was responsible for developing and implementing the global sales and marketing strategy as well as the product roadmap.

Over the past three years, Stefan Lux has headed up the IIoT (Industrial Internet of Things) division at WIKA Alexander Wiegand SE & Co KG. There, he built a new business unit and doubled turnover by developing and implementing a holistic product and sales strategy that ranges from wireless sensors to cloud-based applications as digital software solutions (SaaS).

As Managing Director of KM.ON GmbH, Stefan Lux will take over responsibility for the strategic direction and operational leadership of the company. His expertise in building and launching business units, his management experience and his in-depth knowledge of digital solutions and technologies will make a decisive contribution to the further development of KM.ON GmbH and the reliable achievement of its strategic goals.

KARL MAYER celebrates 35 years of EL pattern drive

KARL MAYER is celebrating an anniversary this year: on 30 November 1990, the first warp knitting machine with electronic guide bar control, the KS 4 EL, was delivered – another milestone for patterning. As early as 1980, the SU gearbox with the MRS42SU had initiated the transition from mechanical chains to digital data.

India becomes growth engine for the warp knitting industry

ITMA ASIA 2025 exceeded all expectations for KARL MAYER – above all thanks to the strong interest from India: around 30% of the qualified discussions were held with partners from this traditional textile country. The response underlines the growing importance of the Indian market, which could become the second largest sales region for KARL MAYER after China. The warp knitting industry in particular is developing dynamically.

Solution for lower energy consumption proves itself in practice

Getzner Textil is one of KARL MAYER’s first customers to use PROSIZE with CASCADE. The innovative weaving specialist has tested the steam and condensation system by KARL MAYER and determined the energy savings it achieves. Karl-Heinz Vaaßen, Head of Textile Drying at KARL MAYER, assisted Getzner Textil’s production specialists both with the tests and with all questions relating to CASCADE. In a conversation with Werner Egger, Head of Weaving, and Thomas Rossi, Head of Warp Preparation at Getzner Textil, he learnt more about the system’s benefits for his customer.

Lenze receives IEC 62443-4-1 certification: TÜV Rheinland confirms cyber-secure development process

Lenze SE has been certified according to IEC 62443-4-1 since November 2025. TÜV Rheinland thus confirms that Lenze meets the requirements of this internationally recognized standard for a secure development process for industrial automation and drive products. The certification is an important milestone on the way to implementing the EU Cyber Resilience Act (CRA), which will become mandatory for machine manufacturers and their suppliers from December 2027.
