Go-ahead for the Jagenberg Textile

Continuous washing range by Jagenberg Textile (c) 2014 Jagenberg Textile
With the re-establishment of the Jagenberg Textile GmbH & Co. KG, Jagenberg AG, Krefeld, lays the foundation for relaunching the production of KÜSTERS textile machines in Germany. In May, production and sales of machinery for the wet textile finishing process of woven and knitted fabrics started in the Monforts Quartier in Mönchengladbach.
  • KÜSTERS foulards and textile machinery made in Germany
  • Restart of the Jagenberg textile brand in Germany in the company-owned Monforts Quartier
  • First orders taken and already in assembly
Dr Erich Bröker, board member of Jagenberg AG (part of the Kleinewefers Group): "After many years of ever increasing migration of German textile machinery production to Asia, we are the first to take the step in the opposite direction. We have returned this traditional industry back to the Lower Rhine region in order to serve customers in Europe and South America from this location in the future. With modernised assembly and office facilities, the company-owned Monforts Quartier provides the necessary requirements in order to house the final piece in the Jagenberg Textile Division puzzle on an area of more than 1,500 m2."

Under the umbrella of the Jagenberg Textile Division, Jagenberg AG develops, constructs, produces and sells not only foulards but also a wide range of textile machinery, e.g. for the dyeing, bleaching and mercerising of textiles. So far, Kusters Calico Machinery Pvt. Ltd. (India) and Kusters Zima Corp. (USA), together the global leaders in the manufacture of KÜSTERS wet finishing plants, formed part of the Jagenberg Textile Division.

"We are proud once again to produce KÜSTERS textile plants made in Germany," explains Dr Bröker. "The basis for this has been the acquisition of the KÜSTERS Group in 2005. This enables us to build on the technology and manufacturing know-how of the former Eduard Küsters Maschinenfabrik company. Until now, we were mainly represented in Asia and the Americas. But that is going to change now."

Ralf Cöntges, Technical Director of Jagenberg Textile, is optimistic only a few months after the company's establishment: "We have been very well accepted by the market. Many customers in Germany and Europe whom we contacted as part of our re-establishment appeared delighted to have a contact in Germany once again for the well-known KÜSTERS textile plants. Our specialised team of experts guarantees the highest quality standards.

Many of them used to work in the KÜSTERS textile industry and have learned their trade from the bottom up." And he added:  "Because of our integration into the global group network and our close partnership with Kusters Calico, we have the support of a strong partner and have access to the entire product knowledge base of KÜSTERS textile plants." The first four plants, including hydraulic power units and control panels, are currently being assembled.
