7th Aachen-Dresden International Textile Conference

„Adding Function and Value“ – this is the overall theme of this year’s Aachen-Dresden International Textile Conference, taking place in Aachen (Eurogress Aachen) on November 28 and 29. Experts from textile industry and research can take the opportunity to learn about latest developments in the fields of sustainability and productivity, electrofunctionality in textiles as well as textiles in medicine and health care.

Plenary lectures by Lorenz Ratke (German Aerospace Center; „Aerogels and Aerogel Fibers – Supermaterials for Efficient Use of Energy“) and Paul Blom (Max-Planck-Institut for Polymer Research Mainz; „Flexible OLEDs – Dream or Reality?“) will open the conference.

An IGF-ZIM transfer session „From idea to practice“ will be embedded in the conference program.

Participants will be introduced to a selection of successful examples of products and methods developed in joint effort by researchers and industry representatives and implemented by the industry. The session „Films and Membranes“ encourages to look beyond the rim oft he „textile teacup“ to a related field of research. All talks will be interpreted German – English and vice versa.
