Bemberg™ by Asahi Kasei on stage for “A Dress for Venice"

Bemberg™ by Asahi Kasei, the unique fiber obtained from cotton linters, will be the sustainable hero of the upcoming edition of A Dress for Venice, the project conceived by Venezia da Vivere starting from 2019.

After the announcement on April 1st during the VFW Research Edition, which gathered renowned sustainability experts, Bemberg™ and A Dress for Venice are joining forces to develop a high profile yet synergic collaboration, focusing on a valuable, innovative and sustainable at the same time approach.

Set to take place in October 2023 during the Fall-Winter edition of VFW, A Dress for Venice aims at celebrating Venice by connecting its thousand-year long craftsmanship to sustainability, fashion and art, enhancing the role of Venice as eternal source of inspiration: with its hidden gems, the city exudes uniqueness, beauty and a whispered luxury. Bemberg™ by Asahi Kasei reflects the same grace, elegance, preciousness; capturing the hearts of people around the world with a timeless passion.

Bemberg™ by Asahi Kasei has a circular economy footprint, since obtained through a closed-loop process ensuring certified sustainability credentials through its transparent and traceable approach. Bemberg™ delivers high quality and versatile applications, comfortable whatever the season: its blissful sensation glides on linings, outerwear, underwear, sportswear and even couture pieces.

The 2023 edition of A Dress for Venice, supported by Bemberg™ by Asahi Kasei, will feature Tiziano Guardini – the award-winning designer known for his conscious fashion approach - partnering with the young artist and textile designer Jacopo Ascari - founder of Atelier Ascari. Fabrics that will be used to create it, belong to 2 important Italian companies with a great expertise of Bemberg™ fashion fabrics: Infinity srl and Tessitura Grisotto. The printing on Bemberg™ fabrics will be produced by Creazioni Digitali, an important company specialized in digital and sublimation printing that will focus on GreenDroptechnology enabling a great water saving value.

Tiziano Guardini, part of A Dress for Venice project since its first edition in 2019, will create a special dress 100% made with Bemberg™ fabric and enriched by the textile print designed by Jacopo Ascari. The sustainable outfit by the creative duo, which represents a tribute to the beauty of Venice, will debut in September at the Venice International Film Festival and will be joined by a mini-capsule collection crafted in Bemberg™ material. The collection will be unveiled during Venice Fashion Week in October 2023, with the support of Camera BuyerItalia, the national association gathering the best luxury multi-brands stores.

A Dress for Venice is a project promoting sustainability and transparency of the supply chain and connecting the designers with the fashion industry thanks to the support of Tavolo Veneto della Moda, which represents Confartigianato, CNA, Confindustria, Confcommercio and Confesercenti of the Veneto Region.

Lorenzo Cinotti and Laura Scarpa, Founders of Venezia da Vivere, declared:

Asahi Kasei Advance will present its portfolio of high-performance nonwovens, flame-retardant fabrics, and advanced textile and fiber solutions designed for various industries during its first-ever exhibition at Techtextil 2026. Techtextil is the leading international trade show for technical textiles and nonwovens, taking place from April 21-24, 2026, in Frankfurt, Germany. Expansive innovations converge in Shanghai as Yarn Expo Autumn 2026 opens doors next week

With just days to go, industry enthusiasm is building for the opening of Yarn Expo Autumn, Asia’s premier yarn and fibre trade fair, running from 25 – 27 August at the National Exhibition and Convention Center (Shanghai). Across 27,000 sqm in Hall 8.2, buyers will find nearly 600 exhibitors from 14 countries and regions, spread across seven specialised zones that range from cutting-edge man-made and regenerated fibres to time-honoured cashmere and silk. Dornbirn GFC 2026 expands conference program with new thematic sessions

For 65 years, Dornbirn GFC has stood for innovation and is one of the world’s leading conferences in the fiber industry. From September 16 to 18, 2026, the international fiber community will meet in Dornbirn, Austria, to discuss current trends, technological developments, and forward-looking solutions. More than 600 experts from industry and academia from over 30 countries are expected to attend. With around 100 presentations by renowned speakers, a 2,5-day conference program, and three parallel presentation rooms with moderated sessions, Dornbirn GFC provides a first-class platform for knowledge exchange, networking, and international collaboration. Cotton Brazil Dialogues 2026 concludes with 50 international participants immersed in Brazilian cotton production

The Cotton Brazil Dialogues concludes its 2026 edition after a series of technical visits to farms, cotton gins and reference centers, as well as workshops focused on Brazilian cotton production. A total of 50 participants from 14 countries took part in the field trips. The initiative is led by the Brazilian Association of Cotton Growers (Abrapa) and the National Association of Cotton Exporters (Anea), with support from the Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (ApexBrasil).

Novel flame-retardant and recyclable fiber-reinforced composite

Teijin Limited announced today that WHILL Inc., a global leader in inclusive mobility technology, has selected Sereebo® P CFP series, a carbon fiber-reinforced thermoplastic (CFRTP) material, for key structural components of the upcoming WHILL Model C Lite. Sereebo® P CFP series provides high strength, light weight, design flexibility and system cost advantages to the Model C Lite, which is a battery powered, single-seat, last-mile device.
