59th Dornbirn-GFC 2020 has been canceled

The organizers of DORNBIRN-GFC have announced that unfortunately the Dornbirn-GFC 2020 has to be cancelled. They stated this decision was very difficult for them and they regret it very much. Due to the impact of COVID-19 there will be no possibility to conduct the congress in its usual form this year. The travel restrictions and the extraordinary economic situation complicate the planning of events. The health aspect and the safety of our visitors are in the foreground of our decision.

Dornbirn-GFC 2020 – Webinar Week 

As an alternative Dornbirn-GFC will offer some lectures and discussions in the form of webinars.

From 16 - 18 September 2020 with a focus on the following topics:

  • Opening with keynote on „Green Deal – Implications for the textile Industry“ and
  • the awarding of the „Paul Schlack/Wilhelm Albrecht Prize“.

Lectures and discussions on the topics:

  • „Leading Polymer Recycling Technologies“
  • „Smart, integrated, digitale textile production chain“
  • „Lessons learned from packaging – EPR schemes for Textiles“ and
  • „Circular Economy“.

Further the organizers of DORNBIRN-GFC are planning lectures and discussions on the burning issue on „PPE Production – a challenge for the industry“. With this initiative they will keep the „Dornbirn-GFC Innovation Community“ up-to- date.

With just days to go, industry enthusiasm is building for the opening of Yarn Expo Autumn, Asia’s premier yarn and fibre trade fair, running from 25 – 27 August at the National Exhibition and Convention Center (Shanghai). Across 27,000 sqm in Hall 8.2, buyers will find nearly 600 exhibitors from 14 countries and regions, spread across seven specialised zones that range from cutting-edge man-made and regenerated fibres to time-honoured cashmere and silk. Lenzing reports improved half-year results and advances strategic transformation

Despite a persistently challenging market environment in the first half of 2026, characterized by volatile energy and raw material prices, subdued global consumer demand and intensified competition from Asia, the Lenzing Group significantly improved its financial performance. Net result after tax more than doubled to EUR 35.6 million, compared with EUR 15.2 million in the first half of 2025. Free cash flow increased to EUR 45.8 million, while EBITDA amounted to EUR 239.2 million. Revenue totaled EUR 1.27 billion, compared with EUR 1.34 billion in the previous year.
