Lindauer Dornier announces leadership transition in weaving machine business

After more than ten successful years at Lindauer DORNIER GmbH, Mr Wolfgang Schöffl will leave the family-owned company at the end of the year to enter well-deserved retirement.

Over generations, DORNIER has stood for quality, reliability, innovative strength and partnership-based cooperation with its customers. According to the company, Mr Schöffl has embodied these values in a special way through his daily work. With a high level of personal commitment, professional competence and a strong sense of responsibility, he has made a significant contribution to the sustainable success of the weaving machine product line and to DORNIER as a whole.

Effective 1 January 2026, Ms Yvonne Schuberth will take over the management of the weaving machine product line. Previously responsible for internal sales, she brings extensive knowledge of DORNIER’s products, processes and customer requirements. In her new role, she will assume full responsibility for the weaving machines business and continue to uphold the proven values of Lindauer DORNIER, with a focus on continuity, customer orientation and technological progress.

Lindauer DORNIER thanks Mr Schöffl for his many years of dedication and wishes him all the best for the next chapter of his life. The company also wishes Ms Schuberth every success in her new position and looks forward to continuing its close and trust-based cooperation with customers.

Volatile markets, increasingly complex materials and growing demands for flexibility are changing the weaving industry. At the same time, new opportunities are emerging in technical textiles, filtration, composites and many other specialised applications. Since taking over as Head of DORNIER's Weaving Machines Product Line at the beginning of 2026, Yvonne Schuberth has been helping to shape this development. In this interview with TexData, she explains why process stability and customer proximity remain the foundation of innovation, how digitalisation is transforming weaving mills, and why she believes the future belongs to technologically demanding applications.

Fewer pores, greater impact tolerance: Peter Dornier Foundation Prize 2026 honours material research on fibre-reinforced composite components for aerospace industry

Microscopically small pores that form during manufacture, or barely visible impact damage, can severely impair the load-bearing capacity and service life of fibre-reinforced composite components. Two young researchers have presented groundbreaking work in this field and will both be awarded the 2026 Peter Dornier Foundation Prize: Dr.-Ing. Benedikt Neitzel from the Technical University of Ilmenau for his doctoral thesis on pore minimisation in the RTM process, and Johanna Buschmann, M.Sc., for her master’s thesis, completed at the German Aerospace Centre, on the improved impact tolerance of 3D fabrics compared to 2D laminates.

From carbon to canvas: DORNIER presents flexible and reliable weaving technologies for 3D weaving and dynamic markets at Techtextil

At Techtextil from 21 to 24 April 2026 in Frankfurt am Main (Hall 12.0, Stand D95), Lindauer DORNIER will be showcasing reliable and flexible weaving technologies for ever-changing market requirements. The machine and plant manufacturer will present retrofits for existing machines, the new TRITOS® FLEX 3D weaving technology, intuitive automation concepts and software solutions for data-sovereign networking of the weaving machine fleet.

More patterns, less effort: the MULTI-MATIC® at Rohleder

For over 80 years, the family-owned company has been developing and manufacturing premium fabrics for brands, retailers and private customers – 100% Made in Germany. Rohleder also relies on innovative technologies in warp preparation and has been collaborating with KARL MAYER for many years. As recently as 2023, a MULTI-MATIC® was delivered to the company’s headquarters in Konradsreuth.

ITA has developed a washable digital smart jacket with real-time feedback and an AI-powered app for rehabilitation

The jacket is washable and reusable; it tracks movements during rehabilitation exercises in real time and transmits the data to an app.
