MarediModa highlights transparency and traceability with InsideOut by C.L.A.S.S.
MarediModa, the international trade fair for fabrics and accessories for beachwear, underwear and athleisure, hosted the exhibition InsideOut by C.L.A.S.S. – Trust is the New Luxury during its 2026 edition, held from 27 to 29 October at the Palais des Festivals in Cannes.
The initiative explored how transparency, traceability and verifiable information can contribute to a broader understanding of product quality in the fashion and textile industries.
Developed by C.L.A.S.S., InsideOut is based on the principle that the value of a fashion product extends beyond its visible characteristics, such as design, aesthetics, performance and appearance.
Materials, production processes, environmental performance and social responsibility also contribute to what the initiative describes as integrated quality. These characteristics are often not immediately visible to consumers but can be documented and communicated through appropriate information and verification systems.
Ten parameters for understanding product value
At the centre of InsideOut is the Decalogue of Values, a framework designed to make the different dimensions of fashion products more understandable.
The Decalogue covers ten areas: Ethics, Social Initiatives, Traceability and Transparency, Environment, Health, Circular Economy Initiatives, Design, Ingredients, Production, and Dyeing and Finishing.
Each parameter is represented by an icon created by artist Gianluca Cannizzo. Together, the ten icons formed the central visual element of the exhibition in Cannes.
The framework aims to encourage greater awareness of the processes and responsibilities involved in textile manufacturing, from raw material sourcing to finished products.
By bringing these aspects together, InsideOut seeks to support communication based on documented product characteristics rather than sustainability claims alone.
Connecting transparency with the textile supply chain
MarediModa provided an opportunity to present the initiative directly to textile manufacturers, accessory suppliers, designers and other industry professionals.
The exhibition highlighted the role of supply chain companies in providing the information needed to demonstrate product quality, responsible manufacturing practices and material traceability.
Franco Taiana, General Manager of MarediModa, comments: “Hosting the InsideOut by C.L.A.S.S. – Trust is the New Luxury exhibition is an opportunity to introduce the project and its Decalogue and to explore supply chain transparency and the need to make the information accompanying fashion products more accessible.”
The exhibition also formed part of InsideOut's broader programme of events and activities addressing sustainability, innovation and responsible communication in fashion.
From transparency to trust
On 27 October, Giusy Bettoni, CEO of C.L.A.S.S., and David Shah, owner of Metropolitan Publishing BV and director of DRS Consultancy, participated in a discussion entitled “Trust is the New Luxury”.
The conversation addressed the relationship between transparency, verifiable product information and trust, examining how both visible and less apparent characteristics contribute to perceptions of quality.
Giusy Bettoni explains the significance of presenting the initiative at MarediModa: “The choice of MarediModa is particularly significant because it brings our campaign directly to one of the international events where the supply chain comes together and presents its collections and expertise. Fabrics, accessories, design studios and production thus become the natural setting for opening a discussion on what defines a product beyond its aesthetic dimension: where it comes from, how it is made, which processes are involved and which values can be understood, verified and communicated.”
Through the exhibition, InsideOut by C.L.A.S.S. aimed to encourage closer connections between textile supply chains, product information and consumer awareness, emphasising the importance of making sustainability-related values understandable and verifiable.
