Pathfinder Australia Pty Ltd, a global manufacturer of advanced cutting room technology for the textile and related industries, today announced the launch of Tecnología de Corte Pathfinder, S. de R.L. de C.V., its new Mexico-based subsidiary.

The expansion strengthens Pathfinder’s direct presence in Mexico and Latin America, enabling the company to provide local sales, service, and technical support to manufacturers across the region. The new entity has been established to support customers in industries including apparel, furniture, industrial fabrics, automotive interiors, technical textiles, and other sectors that process flexible and semi-rigid materials.

As manufacturers across Latin America invest in automation to improve productivity, consistency, and labour efficiency, Pathfinder is positioned to deliver advanced cutting solutions backed by closer regional support. The expansion also reflects the growing importance of Mexico as a manufacturing hub, supported by nearshoring trends and increasing demand for reliable, cost-effective production technologies.

“Latin America represents a significant growth opportunity for Pathfinder, driven by investment in automation, nearshoring, and a highly committed manufacturing workforce,” said John Hollo, Global Director of Pathfinder Australia Pty Ltd. “Establishing a direct presence in Mexico allows us to support customers more closely, strengthen relationships, and deliver the responsiveness Pathfinder is known for globally.”

The new subsidiary will be led by Roy Shurling as Director General. Roy brings more than 30 years of experience in the automation of sewn product manufacturing and previously served as President of Lectra North America for more than seven years.

“We are extremely pleased to welcome Roy Shurling to the Pathfinder family,” Hollo added. “I have known and respected Roy for more than 30 years. His technical expertise, industry knowledge, and customer-focused approach make him the ideal person to lead Pathfinder’s growth in Mexico and Latin America.”

Roy’s decision to join Pathfinder reflects his long-standing respect for the company’s technology, reliability, and partnership-driven business model. Having followed Pathfinder’s development over many years, he recognises the company’s unique position in the market and its commitment to delivering long-term value to customers.

“Pathfinder has built a strong reputation for delivering advanced cutting technology with outstanding reliability and customer focus,” said Roy Shurling, Director General of Tecnología de Corte Pathfinder, S. de R.L. de C.V. “I have always admired the company’s approach and values, and I am excited to lead its expansion in Mexico and Latin America.”

Through its new Mexico-based subsidiary, Pathfinder will provide manufacturers with more direct access to its cutting room solutions, local technical expertise, and responsive customer support. The company’s technology is designed to help manufacturers increase efficiency, reduce reliance on highly skilled operators, and maintain consistent cutting quality in demanding production environments.
