2020 AATCC Concept 2 Consumer® Student Merchandising Competition

AATCC is happy to announce the winners of the 2020 AATCC C2C® Student Merchandising Competition!

AATCC received 15 entries, with 37 students participating from 8 colleges and universities. This year’s theme was “Everlasting Style.” Students were challenged to develop a business model, determine a marketing strategy, and create merchandising tools and products for an integrated apparel line for office/work attire that is timeless in terms of sustainability, quality, and style. 

Students were once again asked to access educational resources, so they could highlight at least one AATCC test method and why it was important to their product line.

2nd Place: Kind Fashion by Brianna Giarraputo, Thomas Jefferson University

3rd Place: All in Apparel by Leah Borelli, Galilea Montero, Mackenzie Price, and Alexandra Savino, Thomas Jefferson University

The Metro: The New Masculinity by Jackson Kwon, Cornell University

The American Association of Textile Chemists and Colorists (AATCC) recognized the winners of the 2025 Herman & Myrtle Goldstein Graduate Student Paper Competition. The AATCC Foundation Student Research Support Grant Program provides financial assistance for undergraduate and graduate students pursuing textile-related projects. Students may submit proposals now for funding to be awarded January 2026. Applications must be submitted by October 1, 2025, to be considered.

AATCC Textile Standards adopted by Colombian and Sri Lankan Governments

AATCC test methods and procedures are international standards, meeting the criteria set forth by the World Trade Organization and used around the globe. The standards gain additional recognition through Memoranda of Understanding with Colombia and Sri Lanka.

Grasim Industries announces fresh investment of ₹3094 Crore to expand Lyocell capacity

Grasim Industries Limited, the flagship company of the Aditya Birla Group and a global leader in cellulosic fibres, today announced an investment of ₹3,094 crore, for Phase II Lyocell capacity of 110K TPA at Harihar, Karnataka. This expansion will consist of 2 lines of 55K TPA (150 Tons per day) each. The first line is expected to be commissioned by 2028, and the second line is expected to be commissioned by 2030.
