Monforts continues to support young talented textile technologists

A. Monforts Textilmaschinen, world-leading supplier of textile dyeing and finishing machines, is continuing to provide support to the Niederrhein University of Applied Sciences (Hochschule Niederrhein) located in Mönchengladbach, Germany, home to the company for nearly 140 years.

Having backed the University’s German Scholarship Programme (Deutschlandstipendium) since 2010, Monforts is granting scholarships to three students in the running student year 2022/2023. Wilm Scharlemann, Head of Human Resources, underlined Monforts‘ commitment to young talents: “One of our top priorities is finding well-qualified and dedicated staff. That is why we have been supporting the University’s scholarship programme since its beginning.“ He went on saying that Monforts provides opportunities for young talents and students studying for Bachelor or Masters degrees – with the goal of joining the Monforts team in future.

Nicole Croonenbroek, Marketing Manager at Monforts, specified: “Each of our textile machines is unique and designed according to the customers‘ special requirements. Young talents are often surprised when they hear of the many opportunities that a company like Monforts can offer. Our market is no longer just about textiles for clothing. The textile world of today covers airbags, blood filters, smartphone components, sun blinds, medical bandages or automotive headliners.“

Apart from its commitment to students at the Hochschule Niederrhein, Monforts is celebrating fifty years of membership in the Assocation of German Textile Experts (VDTF - Verband Deutscher Textilfachleute e.V.) – a pool of excellence in the textile finishing industry.

“Textile finishing in Germany has been strengthened through the VDTF association’s work. Some 65 supporting companies and approx. 850 members have created links to textile research centres at the universities in Aachen, Moenchengladbach and other places“, says Thomas Päffgen, Area Sales Manager at Monforts and former member of the VDTF’s Management Board for many years.

Jonas Beisel, one of Monforts‘ textile technologists, delivered a well-received lecture on the company’s integrated heat recovery and exhaust air system MonforClean at a VDTF meeting. “The VDTF is a great source of inspiration. Getting in touch with other experts in the textile finishing research business, company visits, lectures and informal meetings are an excellent opportunity for fruitful exchange.“

Textilfabrik 7.0 launched: Mönchengladbach becomes a real-world lab for sustainable textile production

With the official kick-off event of the Textilfabrik 7.0 (T7), a major transformation project for the German textile and apparel industry has been launched in the Monforts Quarter in Mönchengladbach. At the “Textile Roundtable,” an event format organized by the Zukunftsagentur Rheinisches Revier, representatives from industry, research, politics, and the regional economy came together to jointly lay the foundation for CO₂-neutral, circular, and economically viable textile production in Germany.

STFI presents concepts for the textile circular economy and solutions for a healthy and safe life at Techtextil

Sächsisches Textilforschungsinstitut e.V. (STFI) has been supporting companies in developing marketable innovations for over 30 years. With a clear focus on sustainability, the environment, health and protection, the STFI offers future-oriented research, textile testing for tailor-made solutions and certification of per- sonal protective equipment. At Techtextil 2026, the institute will present ideas for the textile circular econ- omy and showcase solutions for healthy and safe living.

Cetex: Textile innovations “Made in Saxony” at Techtextil

This year, the Cetex Institut gGmbH is once again not only exhibiting but also organising a joint booth at Techtextil. Together with co-operation partners, textile innovations “Made in Saxony” will be presented on almost 85 m². The spectrum covers everything from textile machine construction and the manufacture of technical textiles to measuring and testing technology, with research and development also having its place.

Italian textile machinery innovation takes center stage in Frankfurt for Techtextil 2026

The Italian textile machinery industry is gearing up for a key event on the international trade fair calendar: Techtextil 2026, taking place from April 21–24 in Frankfurt, Germany. A prestigious representation of Italian companies will participate in the German exhibition—a global benchmark for technical and innovative textiles—to present cutting-edge technologies dedicated to an ever-expanding market.

Between innovation pressure and production readiness: Techtextil 2026 showcases market-ready defence textiles

EU defence spending reached a record level of around €381 billion in 2025. The importance of textile innovation in this context is underscored by the European Defence Fund’s 2026 Work Programme, which identifies “smart and multifunctional textiles” as a dedicated priority area. Techtextil translates this demand into industrial practice. From 21 to 24 April 2026, more than 10 per cent of over 1,500 exhibitors in Frankfurt am Main will present material innovations for protective textiles.

Yarn Expo Spring 2026 concludes, connecting buyers with innovative selection of sustainable yarns and fibres

Yarn Expo Spring 2026 wrapped up successfully on 13 March, as a record-high of over 600 exhibitors from 12 countries and regions welcomed more than 25,000 visitors from 113 countries and regions. Held across 27,000 sqm in Hall 8.2 of the National Exhibition and Convention Center (Shanghai), the fair highlighted the textile industry’s accelerating shift toward a lower-impact, more functional future. Exhibitors presented eco-friendly organic, regenerated and recycled yarns and fibres, alongside innovative options such as sweat-resistant and high-performance materials. A comprehensive fringe programme further enriched the event, offering practical market insights and new networking opportunities.

ANDRITZ at Techtextil 2026: Sustainability and advanced technologies

International technology Group ANDRITZ will be presenting its innovative nonwovens production and textile solutions at Techtextil in Frankfurt, Germany, from April 21 to 24, 2026 (Hall 12, B95). ANDRITZ will focus on technologies for durable and technical nonwovens, sustainable fiber processes, textile recycling, and life-cycle services.
