ICAC releases major update of reports on cotton statistics, world trade and textile demand

Regardless of which part of the cotton and textile supply chain you need information about, you will find it in one of the three major reports published today by the International Cotton Advisory Committee (ICAC). These comprehensive reports are released each year during the ICAC Plenary Meeting, and the data and tables are updated every April.

‘Cotton: World Statistics’ provides world cotton supply/demand statistics since 1920/21, and by country since 1940/41. It also includes:

  • Data on production, area, yield, consumption, imports, exports and stocks;
  • Five-year projections;
  • Monthly and seasonal average prices of cotton and polyester; and
  • Comparison of ICAC forecasts since 2001/02 with actual results.

‘World Textile Demand’ offers information on world end-use consumption of textile fibres, cotton mill use, trade of cotton yarn and fabric, and production of chemical yarn for more than 100 countries.

It also provides data on cotton’s share of the textile market and two-year projections for world textile fibre end-use demand.

‘World Cotton Trade’ highlights major trade developments impacting the raw cotton industry since 1980. It includes analysis of world trade by region; import/export projections by country; matrices of trade flows; and seasonal estimates of export commitments to date.

ICAC also offers savings on a package that includes all three reports. Subscribers can save money when they order the comprehensive Plenary Package, which includes ‘Cotton: World Statistics’; ‘World Textile Demand’; ‘World Cotton Trade; as well as ICAC’s ‘Outlook for Cotton Supply’.
