Gesalife's ANDRITZ spunlace line fully operational and performing strongly

Hubei Gesalife Industry Co., Ltd. and international technology group ANDRITZ have successfully commissioned Gesalife’s first ANDRITZ neXline spunlace production line in a crosslapped configuration. Li Jun, Chairman of Gesalife, stated: “This new spunlace production line and the cooperation with ANDRITZ marks a major leap forward for Gesalife. We look forward to leveraging this technology to support future innovation and growth.”

The neXline spunlace line has demonstrated strong performance since its commissioning at the end of 2024, operating with high stability and efficiency. It can produce up to 1,000 kilograms per hour of premium spunlace roll goods, with the crosslapper reaching speeds of up to 130 meters per minute – highlighting the advanced nature of ANDRITZ’s technology.

This fully integrated line enables Gesalife to align its spunlace roll goods production with its existing capabilities in wipes and hygiene product converting. The expansion supports the company’s efforts to meet increasing market demand for spunlace materials.

Founded in January 2021, Hubei Gesalife Industry Co., Ltd. manufactures hygiene products, disposable medical supplies, and protective equipment. With an annual output of 12,000 tons of high-end medical nonwovens, 12,000 tons of breathable composite films, 6,000 tons of spunlace nonwovens, and 21 million packs of wet and dry wipes, the company has established a strong presence in the nonwovens industry through its focus on quality and innovation.

A Penteadora starts up ANDRITZ textile recycling and needlepunch nonwoven lines in Portugal

A Penteadora SA has successfully started up a complete mechanical textile recycling line and a needlepunch nonwoven line supplied by ANDRITZ at its production site in Unhais da Serra, Portugal. This investment enables A Penteadora to expand its industrial capabilities and develop a new generation of solutions based on pre- and post-consumer recycled textiles. The input materials originate from its own production waste and other textile waste streams. Both lines are fully operational, and the first products are expected to reach the market in July.

ATCO Hygienics, Uzbekistan, orders baby diaper production line from ANDRITZ

International technology group ANDRITZ has received an order from ATCO Hygienics to supply a new baby diaper production line for its plant in Tashkent, Uzbekistan. The order is included in ANDRITZ’s order intake for the first quarter of 2026. Commissioning of the production line is scheduled for the end of 2026.

Kruger, Canada, orders first nonwovens line for sustainable wipes from ANDRITZ

International technology group ANDRITZ has received an order from newly established Kruger Nonwovens to deliver a complete WetlaceTM hybrid line for the Wayagamack mill in Trois-Rivières, Quebec, Canada. With this investment, pulp and paper producer Kruger is preparing to enter the nonwovens market with a new generation of plastic-free, chemical-free materials for sustainable wipes. The line is the first of its kind in Canada and is scheduled to start production in 2028.

YKK Corporation has developed a concept version of its premium EXCELLA® zipper series made from nonwoven fabric sheets created by fiberizing used clothing and other textile materials. ALADIN paves the way for circular and demand-driven textile production in Europe

Textile production can be organized sustainably by utilizing short supply chains and preventing overproduction. This can already be achieved today by intelligently connecting and efficiently utilizing existing infrastructure. At the same time, production becomes circular when innovative technologies and materials are used that enable high-quality recycling. The ALADIN research project, launched in May 2026 and co-funded with five million euros under the EU Horizon Europe program, is creating the conditions for this.
