Suominen’s HYDRASPUN® Circula is a shortlist candidate for the INDEX™23 Awards

EDANA’s INDEX™23 Awards are the highest accolade for excellence in the nonwovens value chain. The shortlist contains the best examples from the industry, highlighting creativity and innovation from businesses of all sizes, and across all parts of the nonwovens supply chain.

HYDRASPUN® Circula caught the jury’s attention for its innovative use of post-consumer waste, and its ability to demonstrate that innovations in nonwovens can support the circular economy and sustainable production. This product is an addition to Suominen’s wide portfolio of different kinds of sustainable products.

HYDRASPUN® Circula is Suominen’s first ever moist toilet tissue nonwoven made with recycled paper, and one of the first nonwovens on the market to be produced with recycled paper and virgin cellulosic fibers.

HYDRASPUN® Circula was developed specifically for moist toilet tissues, but can be used also in multiple other applications. It is biodegradable and meets EDANA/INDA GD4 flushability assessment according to internal testing. The product is environmentally friendly and supports the circular economy. HYDRASPUN® Circula was created in cooperation with Codi Group, one of the leading wet wipes producers in Europe.

The shortlisted entries will be displayed at the INDEX™ Innovation Lab, an INDEX™23 exhibition on April 18 – 23, 2023 in Palexpo, Geneva, on showcasing how innovation and sustainability are driving the nonwovens industry forward.

Suominen AGM 2026: no dividend, Board composition confirmed, share buyback authorized

Suominen Corporation has held its Annual General Meeting (AGM) on April 15, 2026 as a remote meeting without a physical venue. The AGM adopted the Financial Statements for 2025 and discharged the members of the Board of Directors as well as the President and CEO from liability for the financial year. The AGM also approved the Remuneration Report for 2025 in line with the existing Remuneration Policy, with the resolution being advisory.

Suominen launches three-year profitability improvement program and introduces new operating model and leadership team

Suominen is launching a three-year program to improve the company’s profitability. The Full Potential Program targets 10% EBITDA by 2028. Suominen is also introducing a new functional operating model, with a dedicated focus on customers and factories, designed to strengthen expertise and effectiveness.

Suominen reports weaker 2025 results amid market pressure and US supply incidents; no dividend proposed

Suominen Corporation has published its unaudited Financial Statements Release for January 1–December 31, 2025, describing the year as an “unsatisfactory performance in a challenging environment”. Net sales and profitability declined year-on-year, reflecting lower volumes, adverse currency effects and intensified competition, while the company points to two significant incidents at its US facilities that constrained supply and weighed on both sales and profitability in the third and fourth quarters.

Reju opens its first R&D Center in the U.S. in Conshohocken, Pennsylvania

Reju, the company specializing in textile regeneration, today announced the opening of a Research and Development (R&D) Center in Conshohocken, Pennsylvania, the company's first proprietary research center in North America. Located within Technip Energies' existing Advanced Materials and Catalysts research center, the lab will allow Reju to accelerate the rollout of its recycling technologies and develop its next-generation circular solutions.

Itema reaffirms its commitment to the Syrian textile industry at NasTex 2026
