Leading computerized flat knitting technology provider SHIMA SEIKI MFG., LTD. of Wakayama, Japan, together with its Pakistani representative ALMURTAZA MACHINERY CO., (PVT) Ltd., will exhibit at the upcoming International Exhibition for Garment, Textile Machinery and Accessories (IGATEX Pakistan 2026) in Lahore, Pakistan, from October 15–18. SHIMA SEIKI will introduce computerized flat knitting machines, 3D design software and various web platforms as proposals for sustainable production through innovative shaping technology and the latest digital solutions.

SHIMA SEIKI’s N.SSR®112 computerized flat knitting machine offers advanced technology in an economical yet reliable package, featuring innovations such as the R2CARRIAGE® system for quicker carriage returns, spring-type moveable sinkers, DSCS® Digital Stitch Control System, stitch presser and takedown comb. N.SSR®072, which is based on the N.SSR®112, specializes in the efficient production of shaped jacquard collars from computer-generated designs. Both machines combine Made-in-Japan quality and reliability with productivity, user-friendliness and cost performance to meet the needs of the fashion industry.

On the design side, demonstrations will be performed on the SDS®-ONE APEX4 3D design system and APEXFiz® Design subscription-based design software. Both support the creative side of fashion from planning and design to realistic fabric simulation and 3D virtual sampling. By replacing physical samples with accurate digital prototypes, virtual sampling can reduce time, costs and material consumption. When a design is approved for production, automatically generated knitting data can be converted into machine data, helping to connect the design side with knitting factories and streamline product development. By digitally bridging the gap between design and production, the various software solutions from SHIMA SEIKI are intended to support more resource-efficient processes and the digital transformation of the supply chain.

The product planning capability of the SDS®-ONE APEX series is enhanced by several web services featured as part of the SHIMA SEIKI Online Services (SHIMA online) web platform. These include SHIMA Datamall™ digital content web service, which allows users to search, browse and purchase data for streamlining the planning and production of fashion items, and yarnbank® digital yarn sourcing web service, which offers digitized yarn data from yarn companies around the world for download and use in virtual sampling. The platform also includes the SHIMANAVI® e-learning system. Furthermore, SHIMA KnitManager™ knit production management software offers solutions for monitoring machine status and production progress to improve productivity.
