Smart and eco-friendly solutions to enhance sourcing experience at next week’s Intertextile Shanghai Home Textiles – Spring Edition

Curtains will open next week for Intertextile Shanghai Home Textiles – Spring Edition 2025, taking place from 11 – 13 March, and offering the home and contract sectors a comprehensive selection of products with a strong emphasis on smart bedding and sustainability. Alongside innovative fringe events, over 350 exhibitors from four countries and regions are ready to convene in Hall 5.2 at the National Exhibition and Convention Center (Shanghai) to showcase an impressive range of products, including bedding, duvets, pillows, towelling, carpets, rugs, and more.

Speaking ahead of the show, Ms Wilmet Shea, General Manager of Messe Frankfurt (HK) Ltd, said: “Consumer tastes are constantly evolving, which is why this show consistently excels in offering a diverse range of products to meet customer needs. Key exhibitors to display extensive range of home textile advancements

Throughout the show floor, various exhibitors will showcase their innovations across the sector, including:

+ 3M China Limited (USA) (5.2G03) – as one of the first thermal material brands to emphasise thinness, its product 3M™ Thinsulate™ is an insulating fabric made from a blend of synthetic fibres, including polyester. Its fibres have a diameter of around 2 – 5 micrometres, making it much smaller than the other synthetic fibres used for insulation.

+ CoolisT Life Technology Co Ltd (China) (5.2G38) – CoolisT Group specialises in bio-based biodegradable sponges, including bio-based Zero Foam and Hydrophilic Foam. Utilising advanced technology, its products are certified by USDA, OK bio-based, and TÜV AUSTRIA.

+ Changzhou Huaji Wool Co Ltd (China) (5.2F80) – the company produces wool and linen raw materials, with proprietary patented equipment and technology for shrink-resistant wool and wool strips. Its innovative wool products have received OEKO-TEX STANDARD 100 and RWS Responsible Wool certifications.

+ Fujian Anran Textile Technology Co Ltd (China) (5.2F81) – holding over 50 patents and multiple certifications, it specialises in 3D spacer materials, fabrics, and various products.

+ Jiangyin Hongliu Bedsheet Co Ltd (China) (5.2E33) – the company’s bedding set is crafted from high-quality nylon and spandex, offering a soft and comfortable texture. It features moisture-wicking and quick-drying properties while maintaining an elegant appearance.

+ Shinwon Felt (Korea) (5.2G02) – utilising a needle punching technique, the company regenerates plastic waste into felt products. Its sustainable product lines, certified by GRS, contribute significantly to addressing plastic waste issues.

+ Tela's Design (Portugal) (5.2G01) – a design studio specialising in home textile designs and decorations. Its core principles – colour, design, and detail – have established Tela as one of the leading and most successful textile design firms globally.

Eight pavilions showcasing sub-sectors of the industry

The show will also welcome eight major Chinese home textile pavilions, representing various sectors within the industry. These include:

Intertextile Shanghai Home Textiles – Spring Edition 2025 will be held concurrently with Intertextile Shanghai Apparel Fabrics – Spring Edition, Yarn Expo Spring, CHIC and PH Value at the National Exhibition and Convention Center. From concept to stage: Submit presentations for the Techtextil Forum and Texprocess Forum 2026 now

Anyone who wants to contribute to shaping the future of the textile industry can submit a presentation for the Techtextil and Texprocess Forum by 15 December 2025. Both stages represent innovation and practical solutions and promote exchange between research and industry. An international Programme Committee selects the contributions and curates a programme on key future topics in the textile sector. From 21 to 24 April 2026, the two leading trade fairs will once again be the centre of global business dialogue in Frankfurt.

Yarn Expo Spring 2026 spotlights industry transformation

Taking place 11 – 13 March 2026 at the National Exhibition and Convention Center in Shanghai, Yarn Expo Spring 2026 is set to build on the exceptional success of the 2025 edition, which attracted nearly 24,000 visitors from 123 countries and regions. Cooperation in the field of meltblown laboratory technology

The Nonwoven Institute (NWI) at North Carolina State University and Oerlikon Nonwoven will be collaborating in the field of meltblown laboratory technology in the future. This was announced by Professor Raoul Farer, Executive Deputy Director of the NWI and Professor at the Wilson College of Textiles at North Carolina State University, and Dr. Ingo Mählmann, Sales Director Nonwoven at Oerlikon Neumag, during this year's ITMA Asia and CITME in Singapore.

European Commission imposes registration on imports of PET spunbond from China

On 15 September 2025, the European Commission opened an Anti-dumping (AD) investigation into imports of PET spunbond from China following a complaint by the EU industry (AD738). On 2 December 2025, the Commission made imports of PET spunbond from China subject to registration. This is an important milestone in the proceedings.

Mayer & Cie. to shut down after failed search for investor – 270 jobs affected

Mayer & Cie., the long-established German manufacturer of circular knitting and braiding machines, will cease operations after its international search for an investor ended without success. The company, based in Albstadt-Tailfingen, had been undergoing insolvency proceedings in self-administration since its filing on 23 September 2025. As Schwarzwälder Bote reports, the insolvency court has now formally opened the proceedings, triggering the decision to wind down the business in an orderly process.
