Hexcel continues 75 Year Anniversary Celebrations and showcases new technologies at Paris Air Show 2023

Hexcel Corporation (NYSE: HXL) will continue to celebrate its 75th anniversary and highlight its latest developments for the aerospace market at the Paris Air Show 2023. Running from 19 to 23 June, the 54th edition of the Paris show will see Hexcel showcase new material technologies alongside a broad range of high-performance lightweight composite solutions for aerospace.

New material technologies to be showcased at Chalet B117 and Stand F80, Hall B

In response to OEM requirements to increase production efficiency, Hexcel has launched two new aerospace products that each deliver faster cure cycles enabling higher production build rates.

HexPly® M51 is a rapid-curing prepreg designed for hot-in/hot-out press curing. Fully compatible with automated tape laying (ATL), automated fiber placement (AFP) and pick-and-place processes, HexPly M51 is REACH-compliant and has a 40-minute cure cycle at 180?C. A HexPly® M51 rib component manufactured in partnership with GKN Aerospace as part of the ASCEND project will be on display at the Hexcel chalet.

Hexcel HiFlow® HF610F-2 resin is a new RTM resin suitable for high-rate manufacturing of small-to-medium-sized parts enabling robust, high-rate injection processes. Visitors to the chalet will be able to see a part developed by Airbus Stade for the Wing of Tomorrow project that uses HiMax® non-crimp fabrics and HiTape® UD reinforcements in combination with the new liquid resin to deliver a total molding time of just 30 minutes.

Within the main hall, Hexcel will also exhibit alongside its aerospace distributor Groupe Gazechim Composites, where they will display several composite components and a selection of UAV/UAM rotor blades, confirming the breadth of solutions Hexcel offers to the aerospace market.

Exhibits will include:

• an aileron demonstrator part manufactured by Turkish Aerospace with HexPly M21E/IMA materials using a SQRTM process

• a shark fin panel manufactured for the Wing of Tomorrow project by Airbus UK with HiMax® and HexFlow® materials

• a CFRP passenger door beam also made by Airbus with HiFlow® and HexForce® materials

“We are delighted to be a part of the 2023 Paris Air Show, showcasing our cutting-edge products, strengthening partnerships, and celebrating our 75th anniversary,” said Thierry Merlot, Hexcel President – Aerospace for Europe, MEA/AP & Industrial. "As a pioneer in advanced composites for aerospace, Hexcel remains committed to delivering innovative solutions that drive the aerospace industry forward.
