DOMOTEX Home of Flooring presents a country focus for the first time

DOMOTEX will take place from 11 to 14 January 2024 at the Hannover exhibition grounds with several new features. In addition to a presentation area for wholesalers and more Mood Spaces, the leading trade fair will also present an exciting new country focus for the first time.

After a successful comeback in 2023, preparations for the 34th edition of the world's leading trade fair for carpets and floor coverings are once again in full swing. As a source of inspiration and a global marketplace, DOMOTEX is constantly evolving – with a presentation area for wholesalers, mood spaces for residential and contracting, new formats for contractors and architects, and for the first time an exciting country focus. "Together with partners, we are going to present a country focus in the future. The focus is on trends and designs, colors and innovations from the particular country. However, naturally, manufacturers and designers from the respective country will also be highlighted. In addition, we are happy to focus on other distinctive aspects, such as marketing concepts from the country. In 2024, Italy will be the focus of the event, marking its kick-off," explains Sonia Wedell-Castellano, Global Director DOMOTEX, Deutsche Messe AG. Among other things, "Insight Italy" will be staged with a new special display. It offers a global stage on which companies and partners can effectively present innovations, trends and designs and deepen business relationships.

"Our goal is not only to unite the worlds of carpets and floor coverings in one place. Rather, we want to give the industry a place where it feels comfortable, which they can make their own platform and where individuals can meet who have one thing in common: a passion for flooring and carpets. A strong and united home for floor coverings of all kinds!" announces Wedell-Castellano.

Strong support from the flooring industry

For Annika Windmöller, Chief Marketing Officer at Windmöller, participation in the upcoming event is a matter of course: „DOMOTEX is not only a place to show up with innovative flooring but also the best stage for national and especially international contacts. This has been Domotex for decades for us and will continue to be so in the future. We are looking forward to Domotex 2024!"

Yasmine Khamis, President of Oriental Group, considers DOMOTEX a mandatory event: "Our products are there to be touched. No online event can replace personal contact. We look forward to being at DOMOTEX 2024 and meeting with our partners in person."

On the visitor side, the response to the event taking place in January 2024 is equally positive. Jürgen Stockhammer, buyer for carpets and floor coverings at XXXLutz, looks forward to experience "the full range of the Carpet & Rugs community at DOMOTEX 2024, in order to derive even greater benefit from this already indispensable trade show." Michael Roithner, central buyer for floor coverings and carpets at POCO Einrichtungsmärkte GmbH, has also announced his plans to attend DOMOTEX again as a visitor in 2024.

DOMOTEX Southeast Asia 2026 - Building the Gateway to ASEAN's fast-growing flooring market

From 11–13 November 2026, the inaugural DOMOTEX Southeast Asia will take place at BITEC (Bangkok International Trade & Exhibition Centre) in Bangkok, Thailand. Jointly organized by GLOBUS Events Limited and Hannover Milano Fairs Shanghai Ltd., with Worldex G.E.C. Co., Ltd. as the local partner, the exhibition marks the expansion of the internationally recognized DOMOTEX brand into Southeast Asia. As the newest addition to the global DOMOTEX portfolio, the exhibition has been developed specifically to serve the rapidly evolving ASEAN market, creating a dedicated business event for the flooring and interior finishing industry.

DOMOTEX 2026 gains momentum

DOMOTEX 2026 in Hannover is experiencing strong exhibitor demand. The expanded concept focusing on holistic interior design is receiving broad approval across the market. Companies such as Kronospan, Weitzer Parkett, Amorim, Unilin, Classen, Saint-Gobain, and many others have already confirmed their participation.

Textile performance for the global market: Heimtextil 2027 connects interior design, quality and global sourcing

With the new premium segment Carpets & Rugs Excellence, the Comfort & Connect area and the Heimtextil Trends 27/28, Heimtextil 2027 is sharpening its offering for a market under pressure. Today, textile products need to prove their quality, functionality and long-term value. From 12 to 15 January 2027, the leading trade fair for home and contract textiles and textile design showcases relevant innovations across the entire value chain: from fibres and yarns to designs by international studios and emerging talent, through to finished collections, functional contract textiles and complete interior solutions.

Object Carpet tests production of rPET BCF yarn on Neumag BCF line

In a joint project with Object Carpet GmbH, Denkendorf; the Institute for Textile Technology (ITA), Augsburg; and Next Generation Recyclingmaschinen GmbH (NGR), Feldkirchen, Austria, Barmag investigated the processing of recycled polyester for BCF yarn. The goal was to evaluate the fundamental suitability of 100% recycled carpet material for reuse in carpet yarn production to create a closed-loop system in carpet manufacturing. To date, commercial rPET BCF processes have been based solely on rPET from bottle pellets.

Mayer & Cie. Global gears up tor ITMA Asia 2026

Mayer & Cie. Global will focus on mattress fabric production at ITMA Asia, taking place in Shanghai from 20 to 24 November 2026. The company will showcase one of its flagship models for this application: the OVJA 2.4 EM. Joining the mattress fabric specialist will be an OV 3.2 QCe, presented at ITMA Asia in a configuration for knitting double-face fabrics in E40. This gives the OV 3.2 QCe a combination of capabilities rarely found in the market. FET highlights advances in fibre spinning technology at Dornbirn Global Fiber Congress

Fibre Extrusion Technology Limited (FET) presented its latest developments in fibre spinning technology at the Dornbirn Global Fiber Congress in Austria in September 2026.
