STOLL groundbreaking ceremony

STOLL, leading manufacturer of flat knitting machinery and one of the largest Reutlingen-based companies, will relocate the company headquarters from Stollweg 1, Reutlingen, to the industrial area of Reutlingen-Betzingen. The planned construction project is divided into two phases: in addition to the existing production buildings a development and customer center will be built.

The architects ISIN + Co. GmbH & Co. KG from Stuttgart presented the most innovative ideas during an architectural competition and accompanied this project for the planning and construction phase.

For the first construction phase of the development center, STOLL was able to commission the company Systembau Knecht Metzingen GmbH as a general contractor while the company Reiner Scha?dler Bauunternehmung GmbH will take over the foundation and structural work. With the symbolic groundbreaking ceremony on Friday, July 26, 2019, the construction of the development center will officially begin.

The development center will provide bright and modern conference rooms to hold about 70 employees.

In the second phase, a modern customer center will be built on Adolf-Kolping-Street: an efficient building with conference rooms to hold about 100 employees. This building also offers space for the STOLL showroom and training center.

STOLL is setting a standard with this construction project. As a result of the relocation, development, production and administration will be combined into one location after completion of the two buildings. The STOLL technology and innovation, proven for more than 145 years, will take us into a new era with a new headquarter base.

On February 6, KARL MAYER (China) celebrated the new year and its 30th anniversary. Employees and the management team at the Changzhou location, as well as representatives from management in Germany, Italy, and Hong Kong, were invited to the festivities. A special highlight was the visit by Lutz Wolf, CEO of KARL MAYER.

KARL MAYER at JEC: Multiaxial reinforced CFRP pultrusion profiles are picking up speed in the mobility sector

KARL MAYER Technical Textiles will be showcasing exciting new application potentials for multiaxial non-crimp fabrics in combination with the pultrusion process at the upcoming JEC in Hall 5, Booth C 46. The advancement of the tried-and-tested pultrusion process enables the cost-efficient production of complex CFRP multi-chamber profiles, which are used in the CETROVO high-speed metro. The world's first carbon-intensive lightweight rail vehicle of this type is designed for speeds of up to 140 km/h.

Huixing acquires insolvent Mayer & Cie.

Insolvency proceedings for the circular knitting and braiding machine manufacturer Mayer & Cie. were opened on December 1, 2025. Immediately following the opening of proceedings, the complete cessation of business operations was initiated. Most employees were subsequently given notice effective the end of February 2026. The production of the remaining orders in the circular knitting segment is expected to be completed by the end of the month. As early as December 2025, Mayer & Cie.’s braiding machine division was sold to an Italian investor.

DIENES at Techtextil 2026: Flexible pilot lines for bio-based fiber development

The growing relevance of bio-based materials in technical textiles is accompanied by increasing demands for reproducibility, high-quality data, and scalable process routes. Especially when working with cellulose and its derivatives, chitosan, lignin-based approaches, or bio-based PAN as a carbon-fiber precursor, R&D teams face variable feedstock quality, tighter process windows, and the need for reliable comparability across trials. This calls for flexible, data-driven experimental setups that can be reconfigured efficiently when recipes, solvents, and raw-material batches change.

Gunold showcases embroidery product range and services at Texprocess

At Texprocess 2026, GUNOLD will present numerous hands-on examples related to embroidery in Hall 8, Booth E20. The focus is on creative embroidery designs as well as the extensive product range of threads, nonwovens, and accessories for embroidery and embellishment. “Trade visitors can once again look forward to many new and creative embroidery designs.
