ANDRITZ presents its new developments at TECHTEXTIL 2019

International technology Group ANDRITZ will be presenting its innovative nonwovens production and textile solutions at Techtextil 2019 in Frankfurt, Germany, from May 14 to 17 (hall 3, booth B15). ANDRITZ supports its customers in every aspect of nonwovens and textile processes and services with its most advanced expertise and complete technology solutions.

NEW TEXCAL RACONIP TT SETS STANDARDS IN TEXTILE CALENDERING

The long tradition of excellent calender technology for the textile industry is now continued with the teXcal Raconip TT calender. The teXcal Raconip TT mainly targets customers experienced in the manufacture of technical textiles with highest quality standards, for example, sports and work wear, sailcloth, parachute fabrics, or packaging materials.

The teXcal Raconip TT offers the operator a number of features that are useful during operation. For example, user-friendly access to all relevant areas of the calender, excellent data management for the calender process and product quality in real time, and extended maintenance intervals.

Overall, ANDRITZ has focused on versatility and flexibility in development of the new textile calender – properties that should make this equipment more competitive. In addition, the calender contains an innovative, deflection-controlled roll, the Raconip TT. It offers highest flexibility by providing unrestricted profiling over the entire fabric width by means of hydrostatic pistons. This ensures top quality, such as absolute flatness and spot-on air permeability. The new calender has been developed in cooperation with Rolf Ramisch, a well-known specialist in textile calender technology.

NEW WETLAID MASTERPIECE FOR GLASSFIBER MATERIALS

ANDRITZ will introduce visitors to the processing of glass fibers with wetlaid technology. Nonwoven end products based on glass fibers can be found almost everywhere: in ceiling tiles, cushion vinyl flooring, insulation, wallpaper and surfaces, geotextiles, batteries, roofing materials, as well as other applications. Glass fiber as a basic component is an excellent composite material and offers numerous advantages that lend the resulting products unique properties. And because of its wide range of applications, products made of glass fiber material have a strong, growing market.

The manufacture of products based on glass fibers requires particularly gentle treatment in the stock preparation and laying processes. ANDRITZ meets these requirements perfectly. At Techtextil, ANDRITZ Wetlaid experts will present details of this new configuration to interested visitors for the first time.

NEEDLELOOMING AS AN ESSENTIAL ELEMENT OF YOUR NEEDLEPUNCH LINE

Another focus of ANDRITZ at Techtextil 2019 is its needlepunch technology, which the company has been supplying successfully for many years to a variety of industries such as geotextiles, roofing materials, filtration, technical felts, carpeting, and many more.

One of ANDRITZ's main areas of needlepunch excellence is the needlelooming process, which gives the material the decisive properties for consistently high quality. ANDRITZ needlelooms include pre-needling units as well as standard needlelooms and, above all, specialized needlelooms that can be fully adapted to the customers’ needs.

Due to the versatile specifications and processing quality of its needleloom systems combined with robustness for a sustainable product life cycle, ANDRITZ presents its solutions for further innovative end uses wherever this form of mechanical bonding is required.

With a 3D-print model of the SDV needleloom at the booth in conjunction with Augmented Reality, the visitor can gain a unique insight into the ANDRITZ smart service solutions marketed under the Metris technology brand name. This includes the new Metris spare part catalog as well as digitally based technical documentation.

A Penteadora starts up ANDRITZ textile recycling and needlepunch nonwoven lines in Portugal

A Penteadora SA has successfully started up a complete mechanical textile recycling line and a needlepunch nonwoven line supplied by ANDRITZ at its production site in Unhais da Serra, Portugal. This investment enables A Penteadora to expand its industrial capabilities and develop a new generation of solutions based on pre- and post-consumer recycled textiles. The input materials originate from its own production waste and other textile waste streams. Both lines are fully operational, and the first products are expected to reach the market in July.

ATCO Hygienics, Uzbekistan, orders baby diaper production line from ANDRITZ

International technology group ANDRITZ has received an order from ATCO Hygienics to supply a new baby diaper production line for its plant in Tashkent, Uzbekistan. The order is included in ANDRITZ’s order intake for the first quarter of 2026. Commissioning of the production line is scheduled for the end of 2026.

Kruger, Canada, orders first nonwovens line for sustainable wipes from ANDRITZ

International technology group ANDRITZ has received an order from newly established Kruger Nonwovens to deliver a complete WetlaceTM hybrid line for the Wayagamack mill in Trois-Rivières, Quebec, Canada. With this investment, pulp and paper producer Kruger is preparing to enter the nonwovens market with a new generation of plastic-free, chemical-free materials for sustainable wipes. The line is the first of its kind in Canada and is scheduled to start production in 2028.

ANDRITZ at INDEX ’26: Driving sustainability with next-generation nonwoven technologies

From May 19-22, ANDRITZ Nonwoven & Textile is presenting its innovative solutions for the nonwoven & textile industry in Geneva, Switzerland. ANDRITZ will focus on technologies for sustainable and durable nonwovens, converting, sustainable fiber processes, textile recycling, and life-cycle services on booth 2114 in hall 02.

ALADIN paves the way for circular and demand-driven textile production in Europe

Textile production can be organized sustainably by utilizing short supply chains and preventing overproduction. This can already be achieved today by intelligently connecting and efficiently utilizing existing infrastructure. At the same time, production becomes circular when innovative technologies and materials are used that enable high-quality recycling. The ALADIN research project, launched in May 2026 and co-funded with five million euros under the EU Horizon Europe program, is creating the conditions for this.

Katharina Obergruber appointed to the Management Board of Sandler AG

The Supervisory Board of Sandler AG has appointed Katharina Obergruber to the company’s Management Board. Effective September 1, 2026, the Board will consist of Philipp Ebbinghaus (CEO), Dr. Ulrich Hornfeck (currently CCO, future COO), and Katharina Obergruber (CCO). Katharina Obergruber, currently Chief Sales Officer Hygiene and member of the Management Team of Sandler AG, will assume responsibility for all sales activities as Chief Commercial Officer. She will assume this role from Dr. Ulrich Hornfeck, who will focus primarily on production and supply chain topics.

Ence and ShareTex begin initial testing of the ATENEA innovation project to promote textile recycling in Spain

Ence and ShareTex are making progress on the Atenea R&D project, which aims to develop a complete value chain for textile recycling in Spain. Specifically, the goal of the ATENEA project—which is funded by the Center for Technological Development and Innovation (CDTI)—is to connect all the necessary stages for the recovery of textile waste, from collection and management, through recycling and transformation into new raw materials, to their incorporation into new textile products.

DePoly Inaugurates its Showcase Plant in Monthey Switzerland
