Borealis further improves to Platinum level in EcoVadis sustainability assessment in 2021

Borealis is proud to have achieved the Platinum Medal in the annual assessment of corporate social responsibility (CSR) for the first time. After reaching Gold level for four consecutive years, we were able to improve our sustainability performance even further in 2021. This places the company in the top 1 percent of CSR performers globally amongst the participating companies in our industry (chemicals and fertilizers).

EcoVadis is a provider of universal sustainability ratings, with more than 75,000 companies from over 200 industries taking part and committing to ensuring responsible sourcing throughout the supply chain. The assessment covers a range of CSR topics, including environmental impact, labour and human rights, ethics and sustainable procurement. In all four categories, Borealis demonstrated an advanced sustainability management system and performed well above the average of our reference group.

EcoVadis is an important platform for comparing and promoting sustainability across the value chain. Borealis encourages its suppliers to take the assessment and invites its customers to request its EcoVadis results. Leading by example is an important part of Borealis’ commitment to sustainability and we also encourage our business partners to show their commitment.

- a chemical industry initiative for sustainable supply chains. Together for Sustainability advances sustainable procurement practices by providing a platform for member organisations to share the results of supplier audits and assessments on sustainability performance.

DITF develops bio-based binding fibers for wood-fiber insulation materials

As part of the CelluWoodFlex project, the German Institutes of Textile- and Fiber-Research in Denkendorf (DITF) are developing bio-based cellulose ester fibers as alternative binding fibers for flexible wood fiber insulation materials. In addition to the spinning process and the production of suitable staple fibers, the institute is also investigating how wood and cellulose fibers can be separated and recycled at the end of their useful life.

Reju expands textile-to-textile recycling network with six international fabric manufacturers

Reju, a textile-to-textile regeneration company, is expanding its industrial network through collaborations with six fabric manufacturers in Europe and the Americas. The initiative aims to accelerate the integration of regenerated polyester into textile manufacturing and support the development of finished fabrics for commercial applications.

Magnera highlights HighPleat™ filtration media technology at FiltXPO 2026

At FiltXPO 2026, held on October 28–29 at the Minneapolis Convention Center in Minneapolis, Minnesota, Magnera highlighted advances in air filtration media architecture, with a particular focus on its HighPleat™ platform for MERV 8–10 applications.
