Trade fair starts with sales success

KARL MAYER’s booth is very well attended at ShanghaiTex 2015 (c) 2015 Karl Mayer
ShanghaiTex opened its doors on 15. June 2015 and brought KARL MAYER a successful exhibition launch. The displayed machines - a new terry tricot machine type TS EL, a performance-enhanced HKS 4-M and a Multibar Jacquardtronic® Lace type MJ 59/1 S with special guide bar configuration – demonstrated their efficiency during operation and convinced a large audience.
Lively hustle and bustle at KARL MAYER’s stand during ShanghaiTex, already on the first day

“Just on the first day our stand was well attended at all times“, explained Oliver Mathews, Sales Vice President of the Warp Knitting Business Unit, being pleased with the successful start of the fair. "The visitors come from the important textile regions of Southeast Asia and the Middle East - i.e. from China and mainly from India, Indonesia, Korea and Vietnam. However, not only the number of visitors is o.k. but also the general mood at the trade fair", said Oliver Mathews.

"As expected, there is a rather subdued demand from China but on the whole one can observe a great interest in Karl Mayer’s innovations and can see customers’ willingness to invest in new machines. Already on the first day of ShanghaiTex KARL MAYER managed to sell one of its newly developed machines." This well-known global player can be found in Hall W1, Stand C01 during ShanghaiTex.

As part of this strategic realignment, the flat knitting machine business under the STOLL brand will be discontinued. The Reutlingen plant will close down on 31 October 2025. Production in China will end in December 2025. This was an extremely difficult decision for KARL MAYER.
