Syre and JEPLAN Announce Strategic Partnership to Accelerate Textile-to-Textile Recycling

JEPLAN, INC. the Japanese pioneer developing and operating chemical recycling technologies for circularity in packaging and textiles, and Syre, the textile impact company on a mission to hyperscale textile-to-textile recycling, announced today a strategic partnership. Together, the companies aim to extensively accelerate the timeline towards commercialization of next generation textile-to-textile polyester recycling technology.

The partnership brings together Syre’s global reach in innovation and technology integration with JEPLAN’s proven chemical recycling know-how and operational readiness.

Under the agreement, Syre and JEPLAN will develop and refine new solutions to unlock textile-to-textile recycling at large commercial scale. The collaboration is expected to continue accelerating Syre’s timeline to full commercialization, including targeting multi-ton volumes of textile-to-textile generated polyester in late 2026 suitable for spinning validation and product line samples with brands.

JEPLAN operates a PET chemical recycling plant for textile in Kitakyushu, Japan, including demonstration and semi-industrial units used to test and scale chemical recycling technologies.

Rieter and partners launch Recycling Powerhouse for industrial-scale textile recycling

Recycling Powerhouse Ltd. was established in July 2026 to industrialize, standardize and scale textile recycling. Based in Switzerland, the venture will operate a franchise-driven business model that enables the production of high-quality, certified recycled yarns. The project is supported by the following partners: Rieter Group, the world’s leading system supplier for natural and man-made fibers, Säntis Textiles, a Swiss textile engineering company, and Valvan, a Belgian sorting technology company. Lenzing reports improved half-year results and advances strategic transformation

Despite a persistently challenging market environment in the first half of 2026, characterized by volatile energy and raw material prices, subdued global consumer demand and intensified competition from Asia, the Lenzing Group significantly improved its financial performance. Net result after tax more than doubled to EUR 35.6 million, compared with EUR 15.2 million in the first half of 2025.
