- Investment of 8 million euros
- Digital processes increase effectiveness and efficiency
Four variable dock levelers plus a ground-level loading and unloading system will regulate incoming and outgoing goods. The building will also be home to quality assurance for the inspection of incoming goods. This interaction allows to even better fulfill the high-quality standards, particularly in the automotive industry.
At the highly diversified site in Meitingen, logistics processes have become a key driver for implementing Industry 4.0. The exchange of goods between our production facilities and the new logistics center will be operated via a digital central transport control system.
In addition, mobile and ergonomic workstation systems as well as state-of-the-art scanning technology will be used in the logistics center.
Dr Jürgen Köhler, CEO of SGL Carbon: “As new SGL with a focus on our customers, state-of-the-art, efficient and effective logistics are essential in the innovative and fast-growing areas of mobility, energy and digitization.
