A strong industry that exists for hundreds of years and has repeatedly emerged from crises stronger than before. An industry that faces all challenges with creativity and persistence and comes up with innovative solutions. Now is the time to recover and gather new strength so that we can start the new year with renewed energy. Considering delayed non-dilutive sources of financing, CARBIOS postpones construction of its Longlaville PET biorecycling plant for 6 to 9 months
CARBIOS, (Euronext Growth Paris : ALCRB), a pioneer in the development and industrialization of biological technologies to reinvent the life cycle of plastic and textiles, is postponing the construction of its PET biorecycling plant in Longlaville for 6 to 9 months due to delayed funding pending completion of additional financing under satisfactory conditions. CARBIOS' ambition is to finalize this financing, notably non-dilutive, as quickly as possible, so as to serve market needs from 2027. CARBIOS expects to sign several binding commercial contracts in the first half of 2025.

New DIN SPEC supports the development of textiles with low microfibre discharge
Building on a rapid test for the detection of microfibres in sample water presented in 2023, the sporting goods manufacturer Under Armour, together with the testing service provider Hohenstein and the measuring device provider PPT Group, has now published a standardised test method that enables the determination of microfibre release from textiles under simulated washing conditions. With the help of the new DIN SPEC 19292, apparel/textile companies along the value chain are now able to measure and (e.g. comparatively) evaluate the extent of fibre release of different materials as part of their product development.

On 6 December 2024, social partners from the Polish textiles industry adopted the Warsaw Declaration, a joint commitment to work on the competitiveness of their industry. The declaration is the outcome of a 2 day meeting, organised under the EU co-funded StitchTogether project, which aims at promoting social partnerships in the European Textiles and Clothing Industry.
